Very Good Dog Training

We met Steve through a friend of a friend but from the very beginning Steve treated us and our dog (Bud) as family. He was very communicative throughout the process, helping to allay my wife's sadness on missing her dog. He shared videos and photos often to update us on progress. He was a great teacher to both my wife and I on our two week visit and our go home date. We were scared Bud was going to come home a different dog but that couldn't be farther from the truth. He is the same fun loving goofy dog, he is just much more behaved now. He doesn't counter surf anymore, he doesn't beg during dinner, he doesn't pull on walks and most importantly he comes when called. Thanks STEVE

We had an amazing experience with Stephen & Very Good Dog Training! We sent our dog Bud for a 5-week program with and the transformation has been incredible. Bud has always been a sweet, goofy dog, but as a large breed he struggled with listening - jumping on people, pulling on the leash, chasing squirrels, and not loving his crate. Our goal was to help him become more obedient without losing his personality, and Stephen absolutely delivered. Stephen did a fantastic job addressing all of these issues while keeping Bud’s fun-loving spirit intact. We received frequent updates and tons of helpful resources throughout the process, which made us feel really involved and informed the entire time. Now that Bud is home, we’re continuing the work, but we’re already seeing huge improvements. He’s more attentive, better behaved, and still his goofy self. We truly couldn’t have done this on our own and are so grateful to Stephen and the VGTD team. Highly recommend!

Stephen of Very Good Dog Training was absolutely incredible when it came to training our 1 year old golden retriever, Walter. Walter was a bull in a china shop that had very selective listening and with a baby on the way, we wanted to set Walter up for success to be the best big brother he could possibly be. Prior to training, Walter refused to get in his crate, didn’t listen and pushed boundaries like no other. After spending 4 weeks with Stephen, Walter listened, learned to walk on a leash and overall was a better version of himself. Walter is now the happy, silly dog he was before but listens, and I have absolutely no doubt that Walter will be an incredible big brother. Stephen changed our lives and the way we could live them with Walter and we are forever grateful! He is a tremendous guy with great values, truly an animal lover, and I would recommend to anyone that may have a pet that needs a little work to be the best version of themselves. Steve did an incredible job with our Nala!! She made our lives very challenging and we had to do something about it. Steve’s training was the perfect solution. Nala was eating literally everything, jumping, biting and not obeying at all. We often had to trap her in the kitchen because we didn’t trust what she would do around the house. After just a few weeks with Steve and 1:1 training for me, she is a totally different dog IN THE BEST WAY!! We enjoy every single day with her now! We can go on walks with her, leave her out with us all day, trust she won’t jump on, bite or chew things she’s not supposed to and just enjoy being together as a family. Steve is very personable and thorough in his training. He is very responsive and answered every question I had. I am so grateful for Steve’s training. It is worth every penny!! No more stress or mess….just lots of 4 legged LOVE!!

After a long frustrating 3 years with my Rhodesian Ridgeback, VGDT not only relieved the frustration of just basic walks or aggression towards other dogs, but they set up our future with a newborn to be so much more enjoyable. It’s no longer a burden to think how we will handle the day with a newborn and our dog. Now it’s where can we take them today! VGDT gave our dog the anxiety relief and independence he needed to allow him to enjoy his life with us.
