Very Good Dog Training changed my life. I had followed the page for almost 2 years before taking the leap and signing up for a program. My dog, Zoey, was everything you’d expect from a pandemic puppy 3 years later: reactive, non responsive, and couldn’t self-regulate. She’d jump on guests when they entered, barked at every single dog that’d pass by, and her recall was nonexistent. We couldn’t take her anywhere for fear of how she’d react to a new environment. It was no way for a dog to live. Enter the very best trainer EVER, Ellie. She showed us the path to freedom and made darn sure we didn’t stray. She was always just a text message away if we ever needed anything. What set Ellie apart, however, was how much she cared for my dog. She always cheered Zoey and I on whenever we had success, every single time. It was infectious. Knowing that someone cares about you and your dog is the best. I’m so happy, grateful, and thankful to be part of the VGDT community and to have had the help of Ellie. Zoey and I are planning many adventures this summer, and it’s in no small part thanks to our amazing trainer. Thank you!!!

If you are looking for a reason to choose VGDT, all I’m going to say is go for it, you will not be disappointed! Very Good Dog Training Stephen, Chris, and Ellie, thank YOU ! Ellie, have been a god send to me and Nova. From the moment Ellie walked in for the private in home training session program, I immediately felt at ease and her confidence and calmness were felt. Her patience and knowledge has guided us through the program with confidence. Nova has always been a nervous, anxious dog but with Ellie’s clear direction and consistent feedback throughout the training sessions, we have been able to achieve what I thought was impossible. I won’t lie when I say it was harder to retrain my brain than to train Nova! Consistency and making training a priority is definitely key. But I promise, if you put the work in, the rewards will be amazing. Nova and I have a better relationship and I can now trust her in any situation, I know she will respond to me. Her impulse control has improved tremendously as well as her reactivity. Having her off leash has been a goal and it is so incredible to have achieved it ! I can’t thank you enough Ellie ! And thank you VGDT ! There just aren’t enough words. I’m speechless and beyond grateful that I chose VGDT !

Chris at VGDT has completely changed our lives for the better and we are forever grateful! Rocky, our (now) 11-month cavapoo started the program as a nervous, over-excitable pup. He did not listen, especially in public, and was in complete chaos- lunging, barking at everyone, every dog and everything passing by. We started with positive-only reinforcement training and realized that it was not working or addressing Rocky’s “problems”. Full of frustration and resentment, we reached out to VGDT as one last resort before we re-homed Rocky. Happy to say that 8-weeks later, Rocky is a totally transformed dog; a complete gentleman inside and outside our home. Chris has been the ultimate support and an excellent dog owner educator. Most importantly, he taught us how to properly communicate with Rocky. Chris is patient, thorough, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable in his field. He is always available via text/video for tips/suggestions about questions or concerns that come up throughout the week. Working with Chris was the best time and money spent. We feel like we have a new lease on life with Rocky, and we are incredibly excited about it! We love Rocky more than ever before and are so thankful we turned to VGDT Chris for help. As an only child, our dog Finn has always been the center of our universe, but we limited our adventures together due to his jumping, lunging, and other puppy-like behaviors that he wasn't growing out of. VGDT's Ellie has completely transformed our relationship with our dog Finn. She helped us introduce structure and establish boundaries in a language Finn could understand. What really sets VGDT and Ellie apart is the support they provide outside of the weekly sessions. Ellie was very responsive in providing detailed feedback and coaching us throughout this journey. She truly made training sessions fun and focused on building long-term, sustainable solutions to our problems. The possibilities are endless now that we have an off-leash dog than we can take anywhere!
