We rescued our dog, Gus, 3 months ago from the Humane Society. We soon learned that he is very excitive reactive and cries when he hears or sees any dog because he wants to play. He also did not have any leash manners and would pull so hard that my arms would hurt when I walked him. We first took Gus to Valley K9 for 5 days of day training and by the 5th day, he was not pulling on the leash anymore. Brock recommended that we get a prong collar for Gus and he showed me how to properly use it and even sent me a helpful youtube video. They feed your dogs their kibble as training rewards which is a great method as your dog gets to eat their meal while also learning a lot. They also did a great job of sending me videos/pictures throughout the day. Gus was still having a hard time controlling his crying, so we ended up doing 4 private sessions with Brock and he helped us so much. Gus will walk by dogs quietly now with great loose leash form and we have started being able to let him socialize with other dogs again without him freaking out. We mostly worked with Brock and not only did he do a great job of helping us learn how to train Gus, but he also took the time to get to know us as well. We did work a little with Tori and Hannah as well and they are great too! Valley K9 also has a monthly pack walk which we have been going to and it has helped a lot with giving Gus extra exposure with other dogs without on-leash greetings. And we also attended their first Coffee & K9s event which was a super fun way for Gus to work on staying calm in a setting full of dogs. We cannot recommend Valley K9 enough! They are amazing and will work with you and your dog to get the results you want.
