Up A Level K9

We took our adorable, but untrained Golden Teddy to up a levelk9 recently for a 3 week class. We went in every Friday to learn what he learned. We thought we’d never remember, but we did and he has done a complete turn around! He comes when we call him-most important in a busy town and his walking is amazing. No pulling. Can’t say enough about Karen and Anthony. Totally worth it!! PS he misses school. 🙁

Karen is amazing! She has the perspective of being a client and being a trainer. As a dog owner that struggled to find a trainer that could give her guidance outside of classes, she saw a huge hole in how most trainers approach working with clients and their dogs. The commitment and dedication she made to switching careers and becoming an expert in not just training dogs, but working with their owners on maintaining training and comfortability outside of sessions, is what truly sets her apart from her peers. We found Karen when our puppy was 6 weeks old and starting to terrorize us. I quickly realized I was in way over my head. Karen listened and informed us in a way that made learning and adapting to a new routine with our puppy feel achievable. She took calls and texts outside of sessions to help guide us through difficulties and uncertainty. I can’t recommend her enough! She is a joy to work with and a wonderful person who truly loves what she does! & we now have a dog who is integrated into our lifestyle and extremely well behaved & loved by all. Thank you Karen!!!

After rescuing our dog Finn, my fiance and I were looking to pursue formal training. He was a great dog, AARF did a good job of getting him basic training. He didn't have any major behavioral issues, but he was very hyper and having trouble settling in, didn't really listen to commands, and wasn't really respecting us as his owners (understandable since he likely had been bounced around in the shelter system). We looked around online at the training options available. I was skeptical of the larger training courses at the big names in town (this was personal preference, I am not saying that these places aren't good for training your dogs). I wanted to find a smaller and more personal training experience. I stumbled upon Karen and Up a Level K9. After going through the initial consultation, I knew right away that we were going to mesh well with her and her training style. She is more expensive than some of her competitors, but it was honestly worth every penny for us and Finn. After a month and a half with Karen and Savannah, Finn has improved immensely and is a completely different dog! He listens to commands and we now have much clearer relationship roles in our home. The best part of Karen's training is the personal relationship you and your dog form with her. You don't just feel like another client being cycled in and out. She does the daily work, showing you your dogs progress along the way, but she also holds you accountable for the training outside of the facility following a weekly lesson. Dog training is a long term process, and she gives you the tools to be successful! Your dog does not magically become better; you HAVE to put the work in. If you implement everything she teaches correctly, I guarantee you will see similar results. Thank you so much! TL;DR A unique and personal training experience. On the higher end of the price spectrum, but very impressive results if you take the time to do everything correctly!
