It may seem cold and heartless to say, but the way things were going with my rescue Kailee, she was going to end up by at the humane society at best, or put down at worst. In every facet of life she is the easiest dog to work with and the sweetest most adorable doggo you could imagine, BUT her prey instinct is high and is the highest with other dogs. She would become an uncontrollable nightmare and a danger to herself and others. Unleash fido built a vehicle, a car of training, and then taught me how to drive it. While before I was trying to hold her leash, read the owners manual, and build something that maybe resembled a vehicle. Before It just was not sustainable, but now I can take her out on a walk, no stress, no pulling, listening to commands and responding to minor corrections when appropriate. I thought having strict rules at home or during walks was kinda "mean" but really its structure and communication. Its enabling us to have 10 years of chill happy existence instead of 10 years of worry about the door being left open, worry shed get out, worry shed break off the leash or slip through my fingers, worry shed hurt herself or others, etc.
