Uncle Mattys Dog Training

I recently started using Uncle Mattys Dog Training services after trying other dog training companies for our “overexcited high anxiety” dog. The other service that I tried had the trainer from day one stating that our dog needed to be put on Prozac immediately. When we were hesitant to immediately place our dog on Prozac the training of our “overexcited high anxiety” dog seemed to lose focus and was followed by increasing frustration directed at us by the trainer stating that there was nothing they could do until he was placed on Prozac. At that point after a positive recommendation, we tried “Uncle Matty”. I have to say that I have had an unbelievably positive experience with his training. He took the time to listen to our concerns and was pleasantly direct in his observations and what the training would need to be done to address our dog’s issues. Our dog’s transformation in just a short time has seen remarkable improvement. This was all done without drugging our dog. After going to Uncle Mattys Dog Training, I can’t think of going to anyone else for training our dog. Uncle Matty is the best!

Uncle Matty trained our female Black Lab and male Golden Retriever from the time they were each puppies. Both dogs are incredibly intelligent, but require very different kinds of training. Our Labrador is a people pleaser, very high energy, but also timid in new situations. Our Golden Retriever is more mellow, but can also be more stubborn. Uncle Matty was able to provide them each with training that best suited their personalities, while always making sure to love and praise them throughout the sessions. We are very appreciative of Uncle Matty, and highly recommend him to anyone interested in receiving dog training!

After having 2 dogs (one an aggressive adolescent and one a puppy) trained by Uncle Matty, I recently asked him to help me pick out a new pup. Going back16 years, having my dogs professionally trained was money well spent. I couldn’t go anywhere with my aggressive dog and I wanted to make sure my puppy turned out incredible. Matty’s guidance with common problems, alongside proper training and socialization, meant my dogs were well-mannered members of the family. I appreciated Matty’s style of love, praise and affection to get fast results, and both dogs with different temperaments, LOVED their “Uncle Matty”. Fast forward to a few months ago, Matty helped me pick out a new family member and we started training right away. Whether it’s housebreaking, crate training, jumping or obedience, Matty is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert in the field My new girl is 2 1/2 years old, so whether a puppy or an adult, it’s never too late to get started.

This "trainer" used to be in LA. Called him to discuss some difficulty I was having with my ultra stubborn Dachshund. He asked if I worked, of course the answer was yes. His reply nearly made me drop. He advised me that no one who works 8 hours a day has any business owning a dog. I just hung up but imagine, for a moment, a world where no one with a full time job could ever own a dog. The euthanized bodies would be stacked thousands high and deep outside the shelter. This story is not a parable, it is not made up for effect; it actually happened. RUN!

Matty has an east-coast personality. He is direct and to the point This can cause some people to get butt-hurt, in the Golden-State (CA). However, I would not have it any other way. Matty worked very well with our 25lb fear-aggressive terrier, helping us identify his fear-aggressive nature. He worked wonders -not only for our 25lb bow-wow but also for us...to educate us on working with our dog's temperament. Padfoot has come a long way and he can play with other dogs now and associate with people (after a short getting to know you period). Thanks Uncle Matty!!
