Before training with Thaer, our husky mix was pulling us on walks constantly. Now, she walks alongside us and doesn’t charge after squirrels, making our walks much more enjoyable and safe. Thaer helped us feel confident in a variety of scenarios, and going places with our dog is a lot easier! We also decided to start boarding her here when we’re away, and she’s so happy and taken care of with Thaer. Would highly recommend!

I don’t give out 5-star reviews lightly—this is one of them. My wife and I were referred to Thaer at Ultimate K9 Training by a trusted friend, and he fully lived up to the reputation. We started with a typical 4-month-old German Shepherd—high drive, easily distracted, and lacking consistent obedience. Basic commands were unreliable. What stood out immediately was Thaer’s command presence. Within the first session—within the first minute—he had our dog fully engaged. That level of control is rare. He was equally intentional about training both of us, ensuring consistency outside of sessions. This is a structured, hands-on program designed for lasting results—not a pass-off approach. The outcome was clear. Our dog is now disciplined, responsive, and reliable. Commands are consistent, and overall behavior is night-and-day. Thaer’s work with police dogs and his specialization in German Shepherds and Malinois is evident in both method and outcome. I’m also not someone who typically entrusts my dogs to others—especially for boarding. Due to a work obligation, we made an exception and boarded with Thaer without hesitation, which speaks to the trust he built. We didn’t just see improvement—we saw a complete shift. As our dog matures, we plan to return for off-leash training. For those who value expertise and measurable results, this is an easy recommendation.
