Brought my working line German Shepard here to get him started on a program and I have to say, my first 4 weeks of private lessons on obedience and protection introduction has been nothing less than excellent. I’ve followed Manuel and TyCalK9 for some time and finally got a pup to bring to him for training. Great training facility and trainer. Not only does he help train the dog but he helps train the handler for success. I’ll be back for more advanced training.

From the very beginning, my experience with TycalK9 was nothing but positive. It all started with my free evaluation with Jay. He took the time to meet Diesel, observe his behavior, and explain exactly what he thought Diesel needed based on his personality and energy level. He didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need—he genuinely wanted to recommend the training program that would set Diesel up for success. After the evaluation, I paid my deposit and scheduled Diesel’s drop-off date. Drop-off day was smooth and easy. They even give you the option to bring your own dog food or use theirs, and I chose to bring Diesel’s food so he could stay on the same diet. One thing I appreciated the most was the communication while Diesel was away. I never felt like I was left wondering how he was doing. I received regular updates with pictures, text messages, and even FaceTime calls so I could see his progress firsthand. That meant a lot because, let’s be honest, leaving your dog for weeks isn’t easy. Another thing I thought was really cool is that they give you the option to have your dog’s commands taught in a different language. I chose French for Diesel, and Jay did an amazing job teaching him his commands. It’s such a unique option and shows how customizable their training program is. What really stood out to me was that they actually kept Diesel an extra week—not because anything was wrong, but because they wanted to make sure he was fully ready to come home with the best foundation possible. They weren’t rushing to get him out the door; they genuinely cared about his success. When it was time to pick him up, Jay spent at least two hours going over everything Diesel had learned. He made sure I understood not only the commands but also how to continue reinforcing everything at home. He was patient, thorough, and made sure I felt comfortable before we left. I never felt rushed, and every question I had was answered. The support didn’t stop after pickup either. Jay personally followed up to check on Diesel’s progress, and we also had an in-home follow-up session where he worked with us in Diesel’s own environment. That made a huge difference because training at home comes with its own set of distractions, and it gave me even more confidence handling Diesel on my own. Before training, Diesel was a wild, unruly puppy with endless energy. Today, he’s a completely different dog. He’s obedient, attentive, and so much more enjoyable to take out in public and live with every day. I know training is a lifelong commitment, but Jay gave both Diesel and me the tools we needed to continue building on everything Diesel learned. If you’re considering training your dog, I truly can’t recommend TycalK9 enough. Jay’s knowledge, patience, communication, and dedication throughout the entire process exceeded my expectations. Investing in Diesel’s training has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I’m so thankful for everything Jay and the TycalK9 team have done for both of us.
