Two Brothers Sporting Dogs

Bobby has done an excellent job training our two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. We just got our older Griff back after a month long tune up. She’s ready to go and looking better than ever! Meanwhile, our new pup just completed his third month of versatile training and we couldn’t be happier with his progress. He is pointing and retrieving birds and we can’t wait to get him back in time for hunting season. Bobby is great at communicating and our kid’s really appreciate the weekly pictures and videos showing us the dogs’ progress. If you’re looking for a great trainer, look no further.

Training a versatile dog is tricky as the trainer must balance the calmness and obedience required for sitting in a duck blind with the desire to run chasing quail. Bobby and Faith did a fantastic job with my Pudelpointer, Heidi. They had my scatter brained girl for 6 months and needed every second. Stating with yard and leash work, Heidi went from out of control to a polite dog on a leash. She now will maintain place and retrieve to hand at the pond and hold a beautiful point in the field. Bobby has a great facility with a pond for retrieving work and fields for upland training. He has lots of live birds to work with. I was able to attend training sessions every 2 weeks where Bobby and Faith explained the training process and answered all of my questions. This was a very positive experience for me, and I am pleased with the results. --Russ Burwell

POV - Wife to hunter & hunting dog-mama My husband and I picked up our sweet girl Nix in the summer of August 2022. She is a wire haired pointing griffon bred by Bobby himself. (She was the spunky one of her litter!) We knew from the start that we would be sending her back to Bobby for his training program and did so once Nix had reached 7 months old. Nix received the Basic Retriever program with pointing and field training as well. My goals for her were to establish a solid foundation of obedience. My husband had more detailed goals pertaining to duck/quail hunting. Nix was with Bobby and his staff for a total of 3 months. We visited her every 2 weeks to go over her progress and educate ourselves on how to maintain her new skills. Scheduling these 1-hour check-in sessions was easy with Bobby's online system and we were sent weekly updates on Nix that included photos and videos via text. I really looked forward to these updates each week! Once we got Nix back, we were given a list of commands that she had learned and would need to continue to maintain with her. Supplies we bought included an E-collar, a pinch collar, a place board, and bumpers. Nix's behavior had improved dramatically. She is much more responsive to commands (with the help of the e-collar on some occasions as she is still a puppy), she can walk loose leash very well, sleeps in her crate through the night, has not had any accidents inside the house, does not jump up on people as much (this is still a work in progress), and overall you can tell she understands us better. It is important to note that both my husband and I work with her daily to maintain all the good work Bobby has done with her. Overall, I am very happy with the results of her training and the experience we had with Two Brothers Sporting Dogs. The top three things I liked most were the high quality of care, responsive communication, and the insight Bobby provides with each lesson. Bobby is an excellent educator when it comes to explaining why he does the things he does and interpreting dog behaviors.

I highly recommend Bobby and the Two Brothers Sporting Dogs team for dog training. Our puppy, Kevin, stayed with Bobby for 5 weeks and came back with the skills and training we had hoped for. Bobby was (and still is) very responsive and kept us updated throughout the entire time our dog was in training. He and his team will teach your dog and you how to work towards obedience and teach the skillsets required for every day life. We saw tremendous strides in such a short amount of time, and if I could give Bobby more stars, I would! Look no further when evaluating where to send your dog for training. Bobby is the best!

Bobby and his team are top notch and I couldn’t be happier with the results. His communication is great and he kept me updated with all aspects of the months-long training program. His facility is wonderful and has access to some prime land for a great training experience. My dog went from a crazy nut job and I got back an obedient, well behaved, well tempered, great family dog and great hunting partner. If you want a great hunting partner or just a well Tempered, obedient dog, Bobby is the place to go.
