About Twer Bird Dog Kennels
We are located in a quiet and peaceful setting in the Sierra foothills, just a short distance from the city of Oakdale, CA. Our facility is surrounded by a beautiful walnut orchard and is just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Stanislaus River. Our clients are comprised of local residents and people from the bay area and beyond. If you are exploring the Gold Country or traveling to Yosemite, you will find that our location is very convenient. We have an experienced staff that draws from 45 years experience in dog boarding and training. Sheldon and Barbara Twer are experienced trainers and caregivers of dogs of all breeds. An additional trained staff member assists in the boarding operation as well as training.

This is not the place to bring your dogs!!! We picked up our pups after a weekend there and all of them were shacking. They had the runs as soon as we got home. My newest puppy is now traumatized to be around people when she used to love all people and dogs.y other dog didn’t even leave the dog house to eat or drink from what the lady said. When picking up our dogs, There was a dog there that had NO water in his cage on one of the HOTTEST weekends this year. And we were not allowed to pickup our dogs on a Sunday. We had to sit at home without them for an entire day until Monday came to go get them! They also have photos of little kiddy pools in the cages. When we asked if our dogs will have pools in their cages, the people said “of course”. They had no pools and the cages they said was bigger than they actually are. I feel like it is all false advertising… Never never never bringing my dogs here again…
We were anxious, with our first experience with boarding our guy. They made us feel at ease. Even taught me a couple of heeling tricks. We were highly pleased, with our experience. -Regina
I brought my bird dog to Shelden to start her training and after the first 2 weeks we have very good results.
I gave it 4 stars because it is only outside kennels which I was not aware of until I took my 3 month old min pin. It was the week before Easter and couldn't make other arrangements. It was reasonably priced and Honey enjoyed herself
