I don't know where my dog and I would be if we hadn't found Rebecca when we did. My adolescent Rottie is the sweetest guy around, but he's also a 100+ lb dog who struggled with leash manners and leash reactivity. I was struggling to find a trainer willing to work with him, and if they were, the only option they gave was board and train. After 9 sessions working in our apartment, neighborhood, and parks around Seattle, the difference is night and day. It's hard to believe that a few months ago I couldn't take Alofa on a walk without him redirecting onto me—we haven't had that problem since our first session. Alofa's heel and focus are getting better every day, and he's excited to learn (Rebecca and her exciting backpack are two of his favorite things). He responded so amazingly to Rebecca, and her on-the-fly demonstrations made it easy for me to replicate and do on our days between sessions. Fun fact: Rebecca was the first (and so far the only—) person besides myself to successfully be Alofa's handler. He was either too unwilling or too strong to be safely managed by anyone else. I can't stress how invaluable it's been to find someone confident and talented enough to turn this unruly puppy into an eager-to-learn student. Before training, Alofa's behavior got to the point that I stopped taking him to the parks, cafes, and homes that he loved so much. Even though he's still a work in progress, I have the confidence (and he has the skills!) to start expanding his training and life back out into the world. Our relationship has become so much stronger, too. After our first session—and every night since—Alofa has cuddled against me on the couch. Every single night. I'm so grateful to Rebecca for helping us get to this point in his training and our relationship.
