Training with Bria - The Den

Bria and her team of skilled, compassionate and dedicated trainers have transformed the lives of two of my dogs. So much so that I consider them trainers for life. Not only do they provide the initial training session or courses, they also provide on going training with their Day Train program, group and private sessions to reinforce and tweak behaviors so that our dogs can be the best and happiest they can be based on who they are. One of my dogs, Tyson, was rescued by Bria’s non-profit, Saving with Bria. He was severely anxious to be around other dogs at the shelter that he was isolated in a cage by himself in a trailer at the back of the property. She got him out, assessed his behavior, and matched him with us. With her talented training, consistent reinforcement, he is neutral around other dogs and sleeps peacefully at night in his crate. The picture of Tyson is of him lying down in a group class. The other is our dog Smokey, another rescue from Bria! I’m forever grateful for TWB to be able to connect and love our dogs while giving them the best life we can. This place is really special: Bria, Nicole, Erin, and the rest of the team are truly gifted when it comes to training and caring for dogs. We’ve been training with them for close to a year and recently completed their 'free-collar' program. Overall, it has been transformative for our dog, allowing him to be less reactive, more confident, and better at listening both on leash and off leash. It is SO MUCH more fun (for both of us) going on walks and it has been so gratifying seeing him regain some of his puppy playfulness – it feels like we’ve gotten our little buddy back. Our dog was really reactive to other dogs on leash, and we’ve been to several trainers throughout the years. TWB has been the most helpful in helping him learn to not react so strongly to every dog he sees, and in helping us to learn how to set him up for success. The trainers are so well attuned to dogs – what they need (and what they don’t need), and how to help you as the owner work with their energy (and your energy) to communicate with them. The training feels grounded in up-to-date approaches to understanding dogs (i.e., not outdated views that are all about dominance), and the group is great at combining different strategies to help with the specifics of what your dog is experiencing. They are so knowledgeable and so patient, and it really shows in the training! We’ve also done day-boarding with them off and on for the past year, and it’s really helped our dog become socialized to other pups. We always know that when dropping him off he’s going to have a good and safe time (they also post tons of cute videos to Instagram, which helps us feel connected to them throughout the day). Overall just a really well-run operation by a group that genuinely cares so much about helping you to cultivate an amazing relationship with your dog. Cannot recommend TWB enough (the prices are also super reasonable for all the attention, care, and time that your dog gets with their services).
