What people have asked about this business.
Do you offer Board & Train?
Yes. For families who need extra help or don’t have the time to do all the foundation work themselves, we offer board & train programs that include owner coaching on the back end. We don’t just hand you back a “trained dog,” we teach you how to keep that training alive at home.

What makes Training That Lasts different from other dog training companies?
We teach you how to get your dog to follow through because they trust you, not because they fear you, and not just for food. We use positive reinforcement like treats to mark the right behaviors, but the real secret is in your timing, your tone, your posture, and your consistency. We show you how to create clarity, not confusion. Dogs aren’t robots, they need structure and leadership that makes sense.

Yes. But not with quick fixes or bark and e-collars. We help the dogs with big feelings, the ones that lunge, growl, snap, or shut down. We use behavior modification, desensitization, and counterconditioning to change how your dog feels about their triggers, not just how they act.

Absolutely! Real-life behavior happens in your living room, your yard, your front door. That’s where we want to work. Our behavioral consultations give us the full picture and allow us to customize the plan for your home, your routine, your family and your dog.

Before the bad habits start. We recommend starting between 8-10 weeks and continue on as that’s your golden window for socialization and foundational skills like crate training, leash exposure, and bite inhibition. Early training prevents future headaches. Think of that first few months like preschool for your dog.

We offer Behavioral Consultations as a starting point to equip you with the tools you need to build a bond while learning to communicate together. We also offer puppy development, group sessions, structured walks, board-and-training, and 1 on 1 Training sessions. More importantly, we teach people how to lead their dogs with connection and consistency... because a well-trained dog without a well-informed owner still has a problem.

A structured walk is a focused, leash-guided walk where your dog stays by your side. It builds impulse control, respect, and connection, not just exercise. You lead, they follow. Structure first, freedom later.

No. We do not use shock collars, e-collars, or any form of electronic stimulation. We understand their place but we don't recommend using them. Our philosophy is rooted in trust, communication and building connection, not control through discomfort.

We have a 5 1/2 month old GSD/Malinois mix who is a great pup with some normal puppy behaviors (i.e. mouthing, anxiousness, energy, etc) and working with Tyler is exactly what I needed to reconnect with Jefe from a leadership perspective. His behavioral consultation was so helpful, informative, and I am very excited to redirect my boy's anxious energy into a positive connection and job. Plus we got a pretty cool training too to work with him as well. Tyler came recommended to me and I would love to recommend him to anyone who's struggling with their pups behavior. He is extremely knowledgeable and you'll learn to build a lasting bond with your pup 🐶 He spent over 2 hours with us and we never once felt rushed. Really appreciate the time and patience working with me.

Tyler came to our house to help us with our Pittie that has been very reactive to our other dogs recently. Tyler spent almost 2 hours with us giving us training advice and working with our Dog to help her overcome her anxiety. It isn't a light switch fix but he gave us the tools and techniques we need to be successful.
Tyler was professional, patient, and obviously very knowledgable about dogs psychology and training methods. I would highly recommend Training that Lasts to anyone needing help with their dogs.

We had Tyler from Training That Lasts come to our home for a 1:1 consultation and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Our 9-month-old pup had been struggling with nervousness around new people (sometimes snapping in fear), accidents in the house, barking, and being unruly on the leash.
In just 90 minutes, Tyler gave us clear, practical solutions that made total sense, nothing confusing or overcomplicated. We watched our dog start following his directions right away, and we left feeling confident we could keep the progress going at home. Even after just one day, we’ve already seen positive changes and her willingness to learn.
If you want a trainer who’s easy to understand, genuinely cares, and gets real results fast, I would highly recommend Tyler! We’re excited to bring her to a group training and to hopefully join pack walks!
