Train Your Pup

My dog, Humphrey, has developed some fear aggression towards other dogs over the past year or so. We had an at home consultation with Danielle (head trainer), who explained his exact behaviors and the reasoning behind why he is doing the behaviors. She recommended group training and doggy daycare a couple times a week to get him used to being around unfamiliar dogs and people. Our trainer, Greg, has been very helpful in teaching me how to walk my 120 lb. dog without him pulling me, (as well as other training that I had been doing incorrectly). Doggy daycare has been great as he can be around other dogs but in a safe environment with trainers supervising. They even send you cute report cards as to how they did that day. Humphrey has shown great improvement. I can’t recommend Train Your Pup enough!

I have been leaving voicemails for days trying to set up training for my dog and have never received a call back. I tried again today and chose a different phone prompt for something other than training and finally got someone. Unfortunately the person who answered was rude and seemed as if she was annoyed I was calling. As an employee in sales and customer service this is not how you treat someone who is asking to use your services. I will not be using or recommending these trainers to anyone.

We adopted a pointer/pitbull mix at 1.5 years. She is the perfect dog in the house but on walks she is quite a terror. She lunged aggressively on the leash during walks, broke out of a metal prong collar, and didn't respond to food or voice commands. We were very desperate to get help because we knew she had gotten along with dogs before we adopted her. Train Your Pup staff, especially Danielle, helped work with us and our dog to find the real problem which turned out to be bad habits, use new gear to correct the bad habitat, and gave us the confidence to continue trying. They are also very good at accommodating changing schedules, forgotten gear at the daycare drop-off, and modifying training based on what we need. Very good, experienced and qualified folks!

We’re in the middle of in-home training with Ashley and it has been so helpful. The things she is teaching us and our pup have given us a whole new confidence that we will one day have a great dog. Our dog also spent some time at the facility while we were on vacation and was well taken care of. Excited that we found Train Your Pup after feeling defeated with other trainers and daycares that weren’t as helpful.
