Elizabeth, Oh no! I am so sorry that your niece did not get a business card! We never knew that kids would want business cards and we had staff walking behind my truck, handing out Freeze pops with koozies for the kids. We did not have a float, but I was driving and my main focus was on watching for kids that were darting out into the street for candy and making sure kids backed away from the wide tires on our lifted truck before moving. This was very nerve racking and my main concern was the safety of those kids. Knowing that there could be 40,000 people there on those streets didn't allow me to focus on conversations, but my staff was there to do that with a cold treat for the kids. I also had to make sure that I was not getting too far behind the vehicle in front of me as well. This was difficult when a lot of kids came up at once wanting business cards instead of or in addition to, the freeze pops. Please understand, I love kids and have taught school for 28 years. Most of that on the elementary level. I would never deny a child's request for something like this. Honestly, I do not remember a specific young girl asking for more than one card. As I was focused on driving, I would hold out several cards and adults and kids would take them from my hand. I could not tell how many they took. If I had heard her request for several cards, that would have not been a problem at all! Many kids tried to take multiple cards at once and I would just give them one, unless I heard their request for giving it to several family members. Many folks did this today and I let them have what they needed. Again, I don't remember a young girl asking for more than one card. Being a teacher, I know kids can be sensitive (they are kids!) and us adults can be distracted. My focus was on driving and watching for kids in the street and not getting too far behind the entry in front of me in the parade. Please let your niece know that I am SO SORRY that I accidentally did not hear her request. I tried to make sure that every child that grabbed for a card got one. I could not hand them cards as my other hand was on that steering wheel and my eyes on the street. My first goal was the safety of all those kids. I will be more than happy to send her a bunch of cards. Please just DM me and I will get those out to you to give to her tomorrow. I may also have an online copy of the children's book I am featured in to send to her as an apology for accidentally missing her request. Most of my life has been spent on serving kids. I hate that she is upset, but I promise you it was not intentional. Again, please allow us to let her know how special she is and make this accidental oversight right by sending her lots of business cards and a copy of the children's book that the author and I toured many elementary schools presenting to kids. We support many families and their children for the life of their dog after the initial training. Developing long lasting relationships with our clients is our number one focus. That way we are always in their court to help them with their dog. I know we have never met you or worked with your dog, but it is my hope that we can help your niece feel super special, as she is, and also help you with any dog questions you may have.
