Torpedo K9

Couldn't be happier with the experience Torpedo K9 provided for our dog, Mya. We got Mya from a rescue as a puppy about 10 months ago and she's a great dog but lacked any sort of refinement. We tried group training through a large pet store but Mya only cared about playing with the other puppies and didn't get much from the classes. Additionally, my wife couldn't walk Mya because she pulled so hard on the leash that my wife's shoulder was left hurting afterwards. Mya was also a persistent barker and counter surfer. After two weeks with Torpedo K9, Mya is almost a different dog! Nathan and Linda did a fantastic job teaching Mya some new skills. She does great on a leash now and we are able to take her out for walks and to dog-friendly restaurants without worrying about how she will behave. Even though our back yard isn't fenced, we no longer need to keep Mya leashed for nature breaks because her recall works so well (not quite ready to be unleashed at bigger crowds but it's progress!). Finally, with her new "place" command, we are able to eat in peace, answer the door, and feed the cats without worrying about Mya thinking she needs to be a part of it all. If you are looking for a positive training experience for your dog, I highly recommend you speak with Torpedo K9. P.S. Once your dog has been trained by Torpedo K9, the dog becomes eligible for boarding. They only board dogs they have personally trained, which is comforting since they understand how each dog behaves in advance. During the boarding period, they brush up on the prior training as a sort of refresher. I just dropped my dog off about a month after the initial training for a few days of boarding and Mya was super excited to see Nathan and Linda again! That just reaffirms that I made the right decision going with Torpedo K9.

Our mixed breed fellow joined us from a shelter. He was ever so shy & growled at our granddaughter when he met her. I immediately began the search for a trainer & thankfully found Torpedo K-9. Mr. Kelley listened to my concerns & provided pointers to use while waiting to begin training. Mr. Kelley is extremely knowledgeable & it is apparent he has a great love & respect for canines. I was apprehensive to leave our dog for two-weeks. When we arrived for drop off after only a short time, Clarence went to a team member, laid his head on his lap & stayed there. The facility is beautiful & you can see the dogs are well cared for. The goals for Clarence’s training were discussed, with our number one priority being for him to be a well-adjusted family dog. We received regular updates on Clarence’s training progress. At pick up we learned how to continue training at home & even had a follow up session after pick up for additional questions. I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Kelley & his team. Clarence’s training far exceeded our expectations & has been easy to incorporate into our lives. He is now a wonderful family dog & goes everywhere with us. I have recommended Torpedo K-9 to friends & would encourage anyone looking for a first-class training experience to utilize their services.
