Torchlight K9

Torchlight Pets was a three hour drive for us. Is three hours too far for exceptional service? No way! Our working line German Shepherd needed help with people reactivity. He was a product of the Covid lock down. Ted and Alisha (co-owners of Torchlight) have amazing experience with both pets and police working dogs. They helped this helicopter Mom relax and let our Taz thrive. We arrived to pick up Taz and the learning for the humans began. We all ate lunch on a public patio where the waiter stepped over Taz. Unbelievable transformation! Interns Jacob and Paul helped Taz reinforce his learned commands and transitioned him to a muzzle. I couldn't be happier with Torchlight Pets. Excellent communication, sense of humor and dog training that exceeded by desires. Torchlight isn't too far for any dog to travel to become their best canine self!

When I made the commitment to get Toby, I knew I wanted to get him professionally trained. We are going to go on so many adventures together, and that requires obedience. Toby is very smart, however, he struggled with distractions, leash pulling, and door manners. After a lot of consideration, I decided to put him through a board and train program. Trust me when I say I thought of every pro and con in the world. I wanted someone who was a professional, not just someone who trained dogs as a side gig, someone who used humane techniques, and most importantly, someone who was going to look after my dog as if he were their own because guess what?! You don’t know what happens behind closed doors!!! I wasn’t going to let just anybody take Toby for a couple of weeks. Toby and I looked at SEVEN different schools before we found, Torchlight K9, and we are so glad we did. I was met with kindness, understanding, and patience. Pictures and videos were sent when I requested it. You can also really tell the trainer really knew what he was doing. He totally helped Toby with all his issues. My favorite thing is he follows me off leash so well and comes everytime when called. It gives me so much relief knowing he’s not going to go running off, and for his entire life, he gets free touch up lessons if he ever needs it! This is only a fraction of my thoughts during this entire process of find the right training for Toby and I. We are so glad we found and chose them.
