Topline Canine

With 3 dogs needing training, my husband and I weren’t sure that anything could help. It took us a while to fully commit to training, and at first, I really didn’t hold a lot of hope that our issues were fixable. Kayla worked with us on setting up a training plan that worked for us, with overlapping and individual work for each of our 3 dogs. I think it’s safe to say that my husband and I were amazed at the transformation. We can walk around our dog-filled neighborhood without worries, go on stress-free hikes, and have a peaceful relaxing home for all of us. Kayla is a great communicator and we are still working with all the skills she taught us—both dogs and humans. I would highly recommend the training!

We worked with Kayla from Topline to help us train our dog Arlo. The results were phenomenal! Kayla was super good with Arlo, but also with us, in terms of teaching us how to be consistent with him, and implement the commands in a way he would understand and respond to. Since working with Topline, we have gotten an endless stream of compliments about Arlo, both from strangers and from people who knew him before and have seen the dramatic change in his behavior. Probably the best thing is, Arlo looks like a happier, less stressed out dog than ever before. I think a big part of that is not having as much ambiguity about his role, our role, what words we are using for which commands when, etc. I was worried the training collar might make him more neurotic, but he loves it, and is always super happy when we put it on him. I think he just feels relieved that he knows what to do now, and we're all on the same page. Would definitely recommend, 10/10. Even for a dog that was already pretty good to start with, like Arlo. It felt expensive at the time, but in retrospect, it was some of the best money we've ever spent as dog parents.

This has been a fantastic experience for us. We adopted a 10 week old puppy that was supposed to grow to 25 pounds. Come to find out, she was mostly Great Pyrenees and will grow to 80-100 pounds. She was very sweet but very hyper and unruly. We didn't want to abandon her and rehome her, so we contacted Topline Canine based on the reviews. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We enrolled our girl in the 2 week program where she stayed with them. She came back a totally different pup. Our trainer, Kayla, was fantastic; very patient and knows her stuff. Our girl is now a delight to be around. We take her at least once a week to doggie daycare for socialization, and often, Kayla is there performing training sessions with other pups. Our girl just loves her. She is 5 months old now and I take her for walks at various parks and people cannot believe she is only 5 months as she is so well behaved. Thanks to Kayla, we now have a dog that we love very much and is a delight to be around. I can not praise Topline and Kayla enough.

My puppy did return very centered. They built a foundation in her for me to train from. However, I’ve needed to do much of the training myself. Much of the promised cues were not learned and my dog is extremely intelligent. She’s a very, very fast learner who wants to please and I’ve been working with her daily for a couple weeks now post program. As being a fast learner I was very surprised by the lack of commands she learned. She could definitely be stronger on the 2 week (actually 11 days) program’s listed commands and one of the important listed commands (climb) was not recognizable to her at all. The post training class was very short and really didn’t provide much information as it was more of a show of what the dog learned which wasn’t much for this much time and cost. The lady I initially spoke to sounded amazing. However, I was very much encouraged to bring my dog in at her young puppy age. She also was very surprised that I was investigating other companies and I felt pressured to pay now in order to have my pre-Parvo vaccined puppy avoid being in a public kennel. Then I was handed off to someone else who seemed to think the puppy would learn less due to age. I’ve done a similar program with my previous dog and he came back brilliant and extremely strong on the commands. They also seem to have a very tight schedule and was late for every appointment. The trainer who actually got my puppy was apparently sick and the owner who I initially spoke to was in Hawaii so maybe that’s where the issue was. They built a really amazing temperament in her overall personality. However, I will choose a different trainer going forward and could have gotten what I did at a much lower cost. I wanted to give benefit of the doubt but they don’t seem very eager to step in besides telling me that I’m wrong and wanting to do a training session. I’ve given them now 6 weeks to fix the issue but every response is a gas lighting with no actual offer to fix the issue. Therefore, it’s sadly now time to post this review.
