Top Dog Boarding and Training

This was our dog Bruce Wayne’s third visit to Top Dog for Boarding. Every time he enters with a huge smile and comes out with one too! They really care for every animal and are passionate about what they do. The spaces for the dogs are temp controlled which is important for our Boston terrier since he’s terrible at temp regulation. They are very clean and upon return he has not brought home any kind of bugs! They are very good at ensuring proper shots have been given prior to boarding. We have no complaints at all and would highly recommend for your furry family members!

We had our 4-1/2 months old puppy in boarding and training school at Top dog and we were astounded by how much she grew and learned in just 3 weeks. We got our bundle of joy about 2 months ago to be trained as a service dog for our autistic son. Soon after we got her we faced several challenges between our puppy and our son. We had an in home trainer who tried to help us but the challenges to train a dog with an autistic child were to great. Our puppy was chasing/ playing with our son and destroying constantly all of his shirts she was nipping and scratching him (which triggered my son to run even more away from her) and it was a constant battle to keep the two separated. She also didn’t like the kennel and it was almost impossible to have my son’s therapies done and have her in the kennel during this time because she would excessively bark the entire time. This are just a few examples of what we have struggled before we decided to put her into board and training with Top Dog. We picked her up two days ago and she was a completely different dog besides the regular obedience training she received there is no more biting holes in my sons shirts, no more barking and staying in the kennel quietly as we need. She also seems much happier overall. We feel like we have an awesome foundation for her to build up to be a great service dog in the future. Thank you so much for all of your help

I came in for a free consultation with Shawn that I really wish I didn't experience. All this man did was insult me and judged me and honestly treated me like a Dog myself. He would not speak unless I made full eye contact with him which to me made me extremely uncomfortable and made the spiel / therapy session last for over two hours. In this "scientific" spiel he mentioned that Dogs can not understand language, in which I stated "Oh Yes, they can!" my dog knows english, spanish and she knows her number systems. Then I processed to show him by having my Dog (come to me) (sit), (Relax) and on the (count of three) to be released from her harns, he discreted me by stating its all sounds, to them in which I replied "Like how you and I are having a conversation right now, Language is sounds." Then to my suprise the "Professional" Dog Trainer, Shawn himself asked how I did what I just demonstrated. I should have walked out right then and there, because then he proceeded to insult me, by comparing me to physicist that came to him that still didn't know what he was talking about when it came to dog training. Judged me, by using sicarios that did not apply, even comparing me to someone with bipolar disorder at one point. He also judged me for using an automatic dog feeder which his response was "feeding time shows dominance." Which to me speaks for his behavior. I'm not trying to dominate anything, I treat my Dog with love and respect which based off this experience I know its something she will not be getting at Topdoggz. This experience was not only a big waste of my time but highly unpleasant for me, so much so that Shawn himself asked for it to be over. I may not be a physicist, but I am a scientist and yes my dog and I are highly intelligent, so much so that we will Not be taking any classes at Topdugzz. There wasn't even any water for my dog in those excruciating two hours. Its clear that Shawn has no idea what he is talking about and if he is Married his wife is doing all the real work.
