FirstBarkI trained my golden retriever myself and ran into Jonathon at a hunt test recently. I’ve been struggling with a fast and nice whistle sit, he offered some advice and when I got home I implemented it in my training everyday. The dog has improved tenfold, a great training trick with zero pressure and kept the dog excited.

Tomahawk Kennels is a brand new training and boarding facility located in North Alabama. We specialize in training and breeding Boykin Spaniels. If you are wanting anything from an obedient family pet, to a weekend gundog, all the way to a National Champion retriever we have you covered. Our boarding facility is state of the art and climate controlled. We also own and have access to some of the finest training grounds in the south.

If you are looking for a top notch trainer, facility, and grounds look no further! Jonathan gives every dog the time, attention, and love they need to accomplish the task day to day. I have witnessed everything first hand as a dog owner, handler, and hunter! There is no other facility in the area like Tomahawk! From a hunting dog or trial dog he can get it done! Once your training is complete Jonathan will spend the time needed for you to learn and give you an endless list of objectives to keep your dog sharp through the entire off season! If your looking for a retriever trainer, your looking in the right spot. Jonathan has the facility, tools and knowledge to produce either a great hunting/companion dog or a champion hunt test / field trail dog. He is an honest trainer that keeps you informed on your dogs progress. Each dog in the kennel is treated as if they are his personal. You can’t go wrong with Tomahawk!
