To The Point Dog Training

We have a specialized case because our 55lb dog not only has a traumatic past, but also has an unknown neurological issue AND an aggressive streak with a bite history. We were originally looking for someone who could safely board our dog and were given Tayah's info from a friend. We'd already done a long term training protocol, but were advised that a lot of his issues were not solvable/manageable. We didn't know what to do so were living with his episodes for the last 5 years. Most trainers and boarders will turn dogs away who have a history of biting and aggression (especially if its towards people) and after meeting for a discovery walk, I knew we were in good hands. When it came time for his board and train to start, our pup had a pretty scary reaction to the change, but Tayah met him where he was at. LITERALLY. She had to come to my home to help my dog (and an emotional me) with the car transition. She approached his case with more love and compassion than any dog mom could expect. She worked tirelessly with him, focusing on miniscule triggers for hours a day to rebuild his anxious/aggressive reaction to kennels/cars/certain breeds. She took him from aggressively lunging at us when we tried to close the kennel or car door, to a dog who will calmly go in and out of the car and kennel without issue or guarding. He is calmer in stressful situations, and we have structured guidelines to follow that keep his triggers at a minimum. Because of that, we now have a dog who gets to enjoy his life with us more since we feel safer. Her multiple daily updates, videos of his progress and photos of him getting to enjoy his time with her were SO necessary for us...Now when we're travelling, we know someone is loving on our boy as much as we do. I cannot recommend her enough.

Tayah did an amazing job with our mischievous 10 month old Wire Haired Pointing Griffon. He knows all the rules and as long as we reinforce what she has taught him, he has been a marvelously polite dog. Not only did she train our dog extremely well, but she did a great job of communicating to us how we needed to communicate to the dog, which I would argue is just as important, if not even more important than training the dog. She is very available afterwards to help with questions as well and conveniently runs a boarding program as well so Tucker can return to visit his old buddies and get a refresher course on what he needs. I would recommend Tayah 10 out of 10 times and am already singing from the rooftops to everyone I know after her wizardry with him.

December 2023 update: The training that Tayah helped instill in my doodles mind has made this year incredibly fun- we have gone camping, hiking, tons of road trips, met new friends, and swam in so many lakes! My doodle is now off leash almost anywhere I want her to be, and her recall is 10/10! I cant stress this enough, if you want your dog to be happy, healthy, and a whole member of your family- take them to Tayah!!! I brought my 8-month old doodle to Tayah for a 3-week board and train and hoped for miracles - and let me tell you- she delivered them! She helped my pup focus her energy and understand that good behavior pays out better than bad. I honestly dont know what I would have done without Tayah!

I don’t even know where to begin or what to say other than I couldn’t be more thankful for Tayah and how much she has helped me with my relationship with my dogs. I have experienced moments with my dogs that I would have never thought I would ever see. Going for walks isn’t a task that I dread anymore. My dogs have more confidence and so do I. Those two things may not seem so major to anyone else, but they are huge milestones for us we wouldn’t be here today without To The Point Dog Training!
