Posting this review on REV’s second birthday. REV is in the process of her CARDA wilderness air scent certification. Couldn’t be happier with her. Jim made the whole purchasing process effortlessly. My teammate is now a solid 54 pounds, full of energy and the best darn partner I could’ve asked for. Her health has been great. She’s receptive to training and doesn’t hold the mistakes I make against me. In short, I highly recommend TK Hot Kennels.

We took our two German Short hair pups to Jim at TK Hot Retrievers. They came back smarter than us! Jim and his very skilled team took great care of our animals and trained them to a superior level. If you want the most well trained hunting dogs in the world then this is the place for you. Donnie came to Boise several times to further integrate the dogs learning with us. He is a master and the entire team trains with positive reinforcement and love. I was lucky to find Jim and his team. Look no further. They are the real deal.

Where do I begin??? I contacted Jim a few months back with a load of questions. They were questions that showed my hesitation to get another lab puppy. My previous boy struggles with nervousness sometimes and I love him dearly but it’s been hard to work through with wanting to do sports with him. I’ll never forget when Jim said do you know who I am? I was a bit shocked but after speaking on the phone it made sense. Jim’s dog exude confidence. They are hard working, persistent, genetically sound dogs that will make you rethink your opinion on labs and how hardcore they are. I like to consider them mals in a lab body, which is even better. When I came forth about what I wanted to do with a lab he was all for it. Helping me get to my dreams with the best puppy for me. I picked up my boy a few days ago and while I may have loads more to learn about this little guy, I can already feel myself relaxing. I’m not nervous about steadiness. He pushes through it all. I feel excited about the future and Jim’s guarantee that this dog will never disappoint. You can test Jim’s litters and you will be scratching your head wondering how all the puppies in all the litters can score so well and the same. Well, that’s sound genetics for you. You will never meet more of a lab guy than Jim! I can’t thank Jim enough and this spitfire of a dog he has given me. My puppy Blade is not for the weak and neither am I.

I purchased my Labrador from TK Hot Retrievers with the intention of training him as a Search and Recovery canine. Jim’s breeding program produces such consistent working dogs, and his breeding goals matched up perfectly with my training goals. Moki has been a dream dog to live with and train. He is calm and well behaved in the house (with proper exercise of course) and beyond explosive in the field, with beautiful natural hunt drive. I could not ask for a better overall experience or a better dog!
