Thurman's Place

Finding Thurman''s Pace has been wonderful. My dog, Scout, went there for training 3 years ago. The training was very effective but beyond the training is the monthly reinforcement through the Pack Walks. The walks last about 2 hours, the dogs are running through trails and streams and playing. I feel comfortable when I have to leave Scout behind. He jumps wholeheartedly into the Thurman's Place transport van when the staff arrives to take him back to Thurman's while I am out of town.

We found Thurman's Place through some friends who had sent their dog and loved it! Our golden retriever puppy needed "charm school" and we are so glad we sent him to Thurman's! We were glad to have a halfway visit to tour the farm and get a taste of his training. The staff is wonderful! Our training session when he came home was informative also. That being said, the "training" is now on us! We have to work every day to reinforce what he learned, and some days are better than others, but he is already a much more calm, relaxed, disciplined dog than he was a few weeks ago. He will board there in a few weeks, and we are thrilled that we don't have to worry about him one bit - it's doggie heaven out there on the trails and in the creek!

I would recommend Thurman's Place over and over again! They helped us with training and helped us adopt a dog to add to our family. We sent our very energetic and stubborn border collie mix in for training and he transformed into a new dog. He was highly responsive to the training and seemed much less anxious after completing the training program. We would highly recommend for any dogs parents that may be at a loss for how to train their stubborn puppies. We also reached out to Thurman's Place when we were looking to grow our family. We were matched with the perfect dog to join our family. They ensured we were a good fit for her and they also ensured she was a good fit for our other dog. They also did a refresher course for training with our first dog which was amazing. We like to keep in touch and have attended a pack walk which was so much fun! I'm really so grateful for the time the staff takes to get to know each dog and understand their needs. We are so thankful for Thurman's Place!

Thurman’s Place has become just part of our routine! Like many, we first called them when we had a new puppy who basically destroyed everything in sight. One month at Thurman’s Place and we were then able to call him Max 2.0 because he’s just as playful and goofy but SO well behaved! They were a life saver at training us and Max. Since then it’s the only place we board both of our dogs. I never have to worry as I know they are well loved there. In fact they run right to the van when they get picked up to go to “camp”. Couldn’t ask for a better place for our dogs when we are away.
