Do they use shock collars?
Hi Diane! Thank you for reaching out. We do not generally introduce any remote training in group classes. If you choose to do private sessions, we can help train using any methodology or tools that you are most comfortable with. We do use remote collars on our in-board program for a reliable come behavior.

I have a medium to large dog that I would like to have trained as a service dog for me to help me with my Diabetes. I would like an idea of how much it would be to get him certified as a service dog. Please advise.
I am so sorry that we missed this question. We do offer assistance training diabetic alert dogs. The cost is dependent on which programs are used to build the reliable obedience and task training needed. If you are still in need, I am happy to have some give you a call or set up a free virtual conversation to discuss it all in detail. Any service dog work has a lot of ins and outs, and we are happy to share our expertise.

I need lots of help with my dog Halo. He will be a year old in October and still refuses to be potty trained and he refuses the leash. Can anyone help with this?
Hi Tia! We have a variety of training programs to explore, all detailed on our website www.thunderhawkcanine.com. That said, I think you would be best served by starting with a private training session. The trainer and you could discuss your specific needs and areas of concern and develop a plan of action to get there. We cover a ton of info in that first session- including environmental management to prevent issues, training appropriate behaviors, and realistic goals. Private sessions cost $45 at our facility (Thunderhawk's Academy on 111) and $60 to meet in your home or alternate location, provided its within 30 miles of our facility. Booking requests can be made via the website as well. Looking forward to helping you guys get started.

I'm very sorry in the delay of answering this. Still getting the hang of the Google community :-) We do not offer standard boarding services outside of our training programs.

As a lifelong Upper Cumberland resident, Thunderhawk has always been a name I had heard and knew. When my husband and I adopted our littermate German Shepherd sisters, there was no hesitation in knowing exactly where I wanted them to go for inboard training! Thunderhawk exceeded any expectations I had and treated my girls with the same respect and love we give them at home (plus they sent them back with so many manners!). Christie kept us up date on what was going on in their daily routine and even let us visit them at the midway point. Recently, we rescued our littermates mom and dad and needless to say 4 German Shepherds in the house has been quite the challenge. Christie was right there, to give us advice and guide us on how to keep from losing our sanity so we can be one happy family. Experience and longevity matter. There is no more exceptional trainer in this area and I stand by that. Thank you so much for making our home a happy, peaceful one. The dog world needs more trainers like you!

A couple years ago, we adopted two female German Shepherd littermates (Cotton and Virginia) and took them to Christie for inboard training before they were a year old. Probably one of the best investments I've ever made, even if the place command is all they learned....LOL. They are wonderful, well behaved dogs (best German Shepherds I've ever been around). Recently, we adopted their parents (Zues and Tori), and Christie provided us with some valuable recommendations for helping everyone to get acquainted and get along. Christie is always willing to answer questions and be available for consults. Same goes for Carmen as well. See pic of everyone chillin in the kitchen.... enough said.

We have taken multiple dogs to Thunderhawk for the past 5 years and are always been thrilled with their knowledge, ability, and problem solving. The staff and owner all go above and beyond to train your dog (and owner) on their level. From anxiety to basic training to just bad behavior, Thunderhawk is there to assist. Highly recommend their in-board program as well as their one-on-one training sessions. You won't find a trainer more knowledgable and deeply caring than the Thunderhawk crew!
Conversation was very informative. Christie was very nice pleasant and professional and knows her stuff. I would recommend Thunderhawk to dog owners.
