The Wayward Canine

As a local K9 Professional, I have been an admirer of this company for years. Josh is one of the best decoys in New England. I watch videos of him working and immediately become a student. Watching Josh and Alyssa work has not only given me an enormous sense of pride that trainers of this caliber exist in New England, but also regretful that I do not live closer to them to soak in all of their knowledge. A giant tip of my cap to the both of you and the knowledge and experience you provide to the dogs you work with on a daily basis.

When I think of Josh and Alyssa of the The Wayward Canine, I think of tireless dedication. I give them the highest recommendation. They have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in dealing with all types of dogs and levels of training...from puppy house and behavior training, to adult dogs that have been brought to them with serious issues, to protective dog training. They helped me with my puppy in the Foundations program. She was completely comfortable with the crate and practically housebroken after completing that session. They also work on getting the foundations pups socialized in many different areas. The schedule and instructions that they send home make it easy on both the puppy and the owner, setting them up for almost guaranteed success. They instilled a confidence in me in my own dealings with my puppy which was so important. I brought her back to their on and off leash training when she was 7 months old after I took a fall when she tripped me up on a walk. When they informed me that it would be a 6 week program, I was shocked. But I trusted them implicitly off she went. They absolutely did wonders with her! It is not an overstatement to say that their training methods and understanding of where my pup was coming from, and what she needed, were life changing in my relationship with my Jesse. They simply live and breathe and love dogs! They understand each and every individual dog and what is needed to train them. I would also like to mention that they were very accommodating to my situation and kept the lines of communication open during Jesse's entire stay with them. I live in Connecticut and The Wayward Canine is 2.5 hours from my house. I had no reservations about sending her there for that second round of training. I will also bring her there again without hesitation for more training when that time arises. Thank you, Josh and Alyssa for all you have done for Jesse and our family!
