I can't say enough good things about Karen and the incredible work she has done with my reactive dog. My vet recommended her when I was in a state of desperation. Before we started training, daily walks were a major source of stress—for both of us. My dog would lunge, bark, and completely lose focus around other dogs. I felt helpless and honestly overwhelmed. From our very first session, Karen approached the situation with patience, professionalism, and an incredible depth of knowledge. She didn’t just give me a list of commands to follow— she took the time to really understand my dog’s triggers, emotions, and unique personality. Her positive, force-free methods built trust, and I started seeing real progress sooner than I ever expected. An unexpected bonus: our other dog, who has been scared of our reactive dog, has started to gain confidence around her just from watching and participating in parts of the training. The whole house feels calmer and more in sync. Now, walks are more calm and enjoyable, and my dog is more confident and relaxed in situations that used to cause meltdowns. My rescue dog, Sissy, and I loved working with Karen Mast! Like many rescues, Sissy came with lots of issues; Karen was strongly recommended by our vet in Waynesboro, and we began with the goal of introducing a muzzle to Sissy. She was very reluctant at first (ran to the opposite corner of the training facility at the sight of it!), but she now happily wears the muzzle for many activities. We learned so much more, too, but I felt that Karen's kindness, patience, and willingness to try lots of alternatives to find the best method, all came together to profoundly improve the quality of Sissy's life. She loved her training sessions and participated with great joy!

I took my reactive dog, Penny, to Karen in hopes of helping some unwanted behavior. She’s a rescue and I learned quickly had some behaviors that were in need of helping to keep her safe and others as well. Karen was kind, patient, and persistent with penny and did not give up on her despite her difficulties. Throughout the many weeks of working with Karen as well as talking with my vet and finding medication, Penny slowly started to show improvement. I am now happy to say we have a wonderful routine and plans to help Penny stay calm and safe in every situation! Thank you Karen for your help!!
