The Reliable Dog

I brought my 13–14 month catahoula mix here, and the difference has been incredible. She struggled with separation anxiety and poor listening skills, but after the training program, she's much more confident being left alone, responsive, and well behaved. The insight into how the dog thinks and why they do certain things helped me understand her better. Ian provided the foundation for a successful future for my dog and I. I'm grateful for the tools and skills I learned through them as a first time dog owner.

We have two reactive dogs, ages 6 and 2 years. We had tried another trainer that had not helped. We enrolled the dogs in a 10 week semester and had private lessons too. We--the humans--still have a way to go but Ian at the Reliable Dog really understands dogs and does a great job explaining their behaviors. The structure of the program allows for individual work and some interaction too. We would highly recommend the Reliable Dog and wished we had started there!

One meeting with Ian convinced me that The Reliable Dog was the best choice. I have a 4 year old 13 lb. cranky boy who made me dread walking him or taking him anywhere. I moved furniture so he couldn’t see out the windows. He just barked, and barked and barked at anything that moved. Gus, the cranky one and his sister Charli, who has picked up some of his bad habits attend Day School at the Reliable Dog and we have signed on for more training. I am amazed at the change in both, but especially Gus, after such a short period of time. Ian has also educated myself on their continued training. You give Ian a problem, he comes back with a solution. With continued help from Ian, Sophia and the Reliable Dog Team Gus and Charli will be living their “best life”. We now enjoy our walks and yes the furniture is moved back to where it belongs. Many thanks!
