FirstBarkI've taken my dog here for both puppy socialization as well as basic obedience and it has helped me raised an incredibly sweet well behaved pup. Yes, the training philosophy emphasizes treats but you can't expect instant results training an animal. If you want to build a long lasting bond with your dog this is the right place to attend classes.

The Pet Republic is committed to bringing humane, science based dog training to the people of Cambridge. As Pet Republicans, we are positive reinforcement dedicated. Our dog training curriculum is focused on constructive learning and helping our citizen dogs make positive choices. We adhere to the LIMA principle of Least Intrusive and Minimally Aversive training techniques. It is our belief that dog training, while challenging, should be fun and engaging for both the animal and human student and lead to a deeper bond between dog and owner.

Great place for starting the training journey with your puppy. Puppy preschool classes were fun for both owner and puppy alike, and they’ve helped my puppy learn to socialize with other dogs and begin building useful instincts for obedience training. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is clearly a place made by and for animal lovers.

I met with Alison, for a private in home session last week to help retrain my poodle and his potty habits. I was stuck as my poodle is more human than dog and had exhausted what & I thought were all the options the internet could suggest. But after this short session with Alison I’m already seeing results not even a week later. She was able to help me identify the areas I was confusing my dog with signals and rewards and helped create new training Games and ques to use to signal potty breaks. After 2 days my dog began understanding what I was asking and today after 5 days we have ceased all use of pee pads in the house and are getting consistent with our potty routine outside! I am so grateful for the pet republic and Alison!
