The Pet Connection

The short answer: Unique and AMAZING! If you are contemplating using them for training, GO FOR IT! Let them know what you need, and keep communicating. They have a variety of ways they can help you. Communicating and doing the work is key to the training experience. The more detailed answer is: The Pet Connection is multi-faceted dynamic wonder of goodness. I became acquainted with TPC nearly a decade ago when I became a foster for a pitbull from KCPP. They provided an assessment and training for Pippa and helped me better understand what she needed as I was new to the neglected and under socialized dog world. I kept using them for my next fosters from various organizations. All terrific info and guidance was given. Beyond the shelter dog support training, they are a community group. The founder helped me coordinate a cat trapping when a veteran I knew needed help couldn't find any. They absolutely did not have to help provide that guidance. I've watched them help keep pets in homes and get the care they need. This group is an amazing link in the "Better Together" rescue movement as they act as resource to all the surrounding rescues. The founder was the first person I worked with and she is a vessel of knowledge, intelligence, experience, and compassion. The vast experience she has is astounding, if you ever get a chance to get a run down on her bio, whew! I honestly feel like I've hit the jackpot being able to consult someone who has lived and breathed for decades what she is talking about. She's someone who loves the research behind things and continuing her education. She's a sponge of knowledge has greatly impacted how I view animal behavior. I've worked in veterinary medicine for over 20 years now and she's made me a better team member for my clients because I see behavior differently. So just know...when she's offering advice it is steeped and wrapped in experience and knowledge. She is very down to earth and lovely so please do not take the above as being intimidating. I most recently worked with Colton as I got a high drive Standard Poodle pup. Colton is fantastic and helped me find a language both my pup and I could understand. He made class fun and they incorporate play time into the puppy training classes. They really emphasize how important that properly socialized piece is. She is/was not the easiest of pups, but the things we learned in that class and have kept up have really really helped. Colton is beyond kind and informative-completely recommend. Each and every person I know or have worked with at The Pet Connection are very knowledgeable and kind folks. Everyone there works hard to provide support to help pet /human relationships be the best they can be. This group, this collection of people are...big hearted, big brained, kind, hard working, difference makers They work as a community, collaborating to tap into each others knowledge. I've been watching from the outside for a long time, I am amazed we have this kind of group here at our fingertips. They hold the human animal bond is such high regard. Believe me when I say, reach out to them. I've had people in my life feel very judged because of their pet's behavior. The Pet Connection helped develop a plan, helped trained, and the results are incredible. I feel like The Pet Connection's theme song could be "You've got a friend in me."
