The Modern K9 dog training

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with The Modern K9 dog training. Our pup, Lola, completed a 2 week Board and Train session and we were amazed by her transformation. She really loves to train! Corey is a wealth of knowledge and an excellent dog trainer. He made us understand Lola’s specific drive and translated that into an easy to follow training regimen. We are so thrilled with the progress she has made in such a short time!

I need to start out by saying that our dog Gus is a pet and in no size or shape a working dog. Nor was he a severe problem dog, but we needed some structure and to get ourselves in a correct mindset to foster continued compliance during his ongoing training once he came home. Corey seems to train the entire range of dogs from ones like ours to guard dogs, police K9s, hunting dogs, and competition level dogs too. We saw him doing some maneuvers with his dog in his backyard and it was beyond impressive. I was wondering whether our Gus was going to be below the training level that Corey was used to but that wasn't the case. Gus spent 15 days with Corey's family, and came home much more of a gentleman, and with our new knowledge and skills we can reinforce and expand on his newly learned good behaviors. Some things to note- Corey is super knowledgeable, and he did his best not to overwhelm us. Even so, know that there's a lot to learn and it comes at you like drinking from a firehouse sometimes. Whatever our questions were, he answered them and explained the reasoning behind things.. Corey let both my wife and I do repeated practice exercises and helped up work on our voices, our actions, and especially our timing. He was really patient with me and my newness to it all. If there was one hard part about the whole experience it was missing my fur-buddy so much at first. Don't expect hourly or even daily detailed updates on how your dog is doing, I think Corey is too occupied with training for that, but know that he's using every chance to further your dogs learning. Ten minutes sending an update is ten minutes of missed training opportunity! (We live right up the street and if I'd had my sentimental way I would have been over there 6 hours a day interrupting Gus' education). Corey has done a couple post boarding trainings with us and Gus and they're really helpful. We are very happy with the training.
