Why does my dog act like a lunatic when it sees other dogs?
Reactivity on leash could be a result of frustration when the dog wants to go see whatever it is that it sees but can’t, or fear which would result in the dog barking and lunging for the purpose of creating more space from the person, dog or thing that it sees. Both of these can be modified through the use of positive reinforcement for an alternative behavior or counter conditioning and desensitization methods.

What is the most challenging behavior you experience with your dog or puppy?
Some of the most common behavior challenges I experience with my clients include pulling on leash, reacting to people or other dogs while on leash, anxiety to unfamiliar people or places or when getting in & riding in the car, barking at things they hear or see, and separation anxiety. Most often, these behavior issues are a result of fear or frustration. Dogs need to feel safe in order to be able to learn. All of these are behavior issues that I can help dogs overcome using positive reinforcement, counter conditioning and desensitization, creating new positive associations, or teaching the dog and alternative behavior that is incompatible with the unwanted behavior.

Why doesn’t my puppy stop peeing in the house?
Learning to hold its bowels and bladder and communicate to the human when they need to go potty so you can take it outside to eliminate where you want it to is a behavior that needs to be taught to your puppy. Otherwise, your puppy will just go when the need arises wherever they’re at, which is natural for them to do.

What is learned helplessness in dogs?
A dog may seem to be emotionally “fine” with an experience when it is actually shut down emotionally because it has learned that it has no choice but to endure the experience. A common example is being groomed. Often the experience of being bathed and having loud, intense air driers blown at them is not an enjoyable experience, but the dog has learned it has no choice and is physically restrained from expressing how it feels about the experience - this is learned helplessness.

I never had a dog before. Had no idea what to do with my puppy Pit Bull . He had so much energy. I was so overwhelmed. Well I called the shelter & they recommended Wendy . She came to the rescue right away . I can’t say enough how well she helped my family. The first day she came out and-helped train my puppy was like a miracle. She stayed until we understood exactly what to do . Then later that night I got a email from her that explain with websites to help me more . Anytime I had a question I could call her and she would help me. My Blu is the most sweetest Pit Bull ever & now we are one big happy family. I owe it all to Wendy. Even though are time with her training is almost up . I know I can call her anytime and she will help . Blu is well trained now we can take him anywhere . It’s great having a well trainied Dog . Thanks Wendy !!!!

We were pretty desperate when we hired Wendy. Our adorable little Vizsla Ruby was taking over our lives. Ruby wasn't the only one who needed training, we were the cause of a lot of our own frustrations. Wendy realized we needed her help, she was able to solve most of our problems quickly. She was very conscientious and caring. Ruby listened to Wendy and now listens to us. We couldn't be happier with the progress Ruby has made with Wedy's expertise. We now have the tools too make our life with Ruby the best. Wendy's knowledge and understanding of DOG behavior is SPOT on.
I cannot thank Wendy enough for all of her support and patience with helping me learn how to train my dog! Wendy was more than willing to go above and beyond to make certain I understood the scientific reasoning behind the training. She was always positive and made me feel great about the entire process! I am looking forward to more sessions with her!!!!
My dogs are very challenging and that they haven't had any formal training. They are still a work in progress but Wendy is patient, kind, understanding and she really knows what she is doing.
