We highly recommend Amber! After our experience with her training- our guy was in for four weeks and we have a whole new lease on enjoying this time with our dog! Constant communication, updates, questions answered and support from drop of day to going home and continuing after. The care and time she takes to help these dogs and their people is huge, and seeing the calm that comes with a dog being trained and feeling confident is a remarkable feeling!

I have a reactive, 90 pound German Shepherd that I couldn't take anywhere without being afraid of seeing another dog. We had tried several other trainers with no real success. Amber asked me what my specific goals were for my dog, and even came to my house for the first session. She taught me how to recognize his signals and how to deal with his behaviors. He is already starting to calm himself and redirect himself. Amber goes with us to the places that I want to be able to go and helps him be in view of other dogs in a safe way so that he learns the proper ways to handle his anxiety. Working with Amber has been an amazing, rewarding experience and I look forward to all the new goals that I can achieve with my dog. We have a very busy young family with three kids and two spoiled puppies. Our puppies were not aggressive, they were happy and loving but disobedient and creating chaos. We were feeling overwhelmed with training and a bit hopeless with having any type of schedule because let's be real our life was already chaotic before the puppies arrived. After reading about the Kinetic K-9 training I was hopeful that Amber could help but also but worried that we might waste our money and not be able to maintain her level of obedience. Our first puppy Lincoln has graduated from the 3 week board and train and he is a changed man!! He has learned the commands and most importantly WE learned the commands. This training was easy for us to learn, easy for us to install into our everyday lives, and has brought a new sense of calm into our house. Lincoln knows what to expect and he is calm and happy. I never imagined I would be able to let him off-leash on a walk or in a field to play with another dog and he wouldn't run away! Something simple like being able to answer our doorbell without worrying about him escaping or jumping on our guests is amazing. We are now able to eat dinner as a family while he quietly sits on his bed, no longer begging for food or stealing food from my kids plate! This program works and is absolutely worth every penny. Amber provided plenty of guidance including client pdfs to prepare us for Lincoln to come home and a great one-on-one training session to hand him off to us. She has been readily available when I have had questions and eager to help. We have already sent our second puppy!! I can not recommend this program enough!

When I first got Chief, he was a year old with no training at all, and he was a nervous wreck. He wouldn’t let anyone walk behind me and would bark at anything or anyone that came near us. He’d even jump the fence at my house and nip at me and my family. While he was super lovable, he was also unpredictable, and I felt completely lost on how to help him. After a lot of searching, I found Kinetic K9, and I’m so glad I did. Chief has transformed into a completely different dog. He listens to me and my family now, ignores distractions, and I can trust him off leash because he has reliable recall. He’s finally found peace in just being a dog. I honestly can’t recommend Amber enough if your dog needs help finding their calm and improved listening skills.

When Desi first came in, she was… a lot. • She’s the type of dog who will wait until you turn your back after saying “no” — and then do exactly what she wanted anyway. • As smart as she was reactive, with the memory of an elephant and the determination of a brat, she never forgot what she wanted. • She hyperventilated at the sight of an animal three blocks away (and yes, she’s very judgy about which dogs deserve her energy). • If a stranger dared approach the car or house, she would absolutely lose her mind — barking, pawing, climbing windows like it was her job. • She talked back while doing commands, as if to make sure her opinion is heard. • Walking herself if she didn’t feel like being walked, even on a prong collar? In short: Desi was brilliant, vocal, determined… and exhausting. * A little more background Desi, a German shepherd mixed with feral animal, I mean Australian cattle dog. I had been through 2 trainers by the time she was 1 1/2. The first made her worse, the second one was able to get her back a little but our world had shrunk to a small space because of her reactivity and anxiety. I talked with a dozen different trainers looking for a board and train and none of them were a good fit for her. I didn’t want her to be a robot and loose her personality I just needed her to be able to walk passed another dog without having a complete meltdown. And I needed a trainer I could relate to and respect. Desi went to Amber at Kinetic k9 and about 2 weeks into her program and watching all videos of her I saw a change in her eyes, I got to see her settle into her skin. I watched her come to life and run off leash with a pack of dogs. Desi has been home for almost 3 months now. The first time we went for a hike I cried for like half a mile, the change was that big. Her recall is 99% and she can catch her freebie in an open field in a park in the middle of the afternoon on a sunny Saturday. She listens 99% of the time and doesn’t keep trying after getting a no. She had a slip recently because I slipped a few times. On a Desi scale, it was a 4 but I texted Amber for help, she was instantly responsive. The next day I watched a community come together to help us work through it. Another previous client with a formerly reactive dog and Randi from Canine Conversion who trained my bulldog Biggie Smalls, showed up with her dogs for an assist. Desi got through it and I’ve been doing my part to keep her in that state. She will always be a challenge but it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my life. Knowing Amber is there to see us through any challenges sets her apart from other trainers and gives me the confidence to get through the days Desis DNA tries to test me. For the reactive dog parents who are in need of drastic changes. Do it, my only regret is not doing it sooner, you have no idea how small your world really is. Like the first time I stopped for gas and someone approached the car Desi started to load and I was able to catch it quick and then she layed down without the commentary. In that moment and many others over the next few weeks those small wins not only helped with my confidence in believing I could keep this up, but we got to start over together. She’s still a brat but now I know how funny she is since she’s not hyperventilating or causing the biggest scene when a pug across the street snorts in her direction. Be honest on your application, the start of this review was literally on her intake forms. Tell Amber every embarrassing thing your dog does so she can help with that. The first 3 months require a lot of patience and discipline for everyone and you get all the tools needed for your dog’s transformation and there is no shortcuts or cheating, you’ll just be cheating yourself and your dog. To spend all that time, energy and money for your dog to get a taste of what a beautiful life it could be and not follow through on your end is a disservice to them. But it’s the best decision/investment you’ll make and you will truly not be alone for as long as your dog indefinitely.
