The K-9 Center

We love the K-9 Center! My husband and I dropped our 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix there for their Board & Train program and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We were absolutely shocked that they got Toby to listen and respect boundaries and rules, and they got him to walk safely on a leash which was huge. It’s made all of our lives better! What makes me even happier though is how happy Toby is to see them every time we bring him back, either for a class or for boarding, because I know that the staff and trainers at K-9 Center cared for Toby and loved him as much as I do.

This place has shaped my dog into an obedient and relaxed companion. Before K9, my dog would walk ME on the her walks, pull constantly, and want to play with every other dog, person, etc. Now, my dog is a very calm walker. The K9 Center is the best investment I’ve ever made in my dog. The management and trainers are kind, generous, and really want the best for you and your dog. I HIGHLY recommend the K9 center.

When I got my puppy at ten weeks old, I already had plans for her to become a therapy dog. She started puppy training with Riley and then, as soon as she turned six months old, we enrolled in the lifetime program. I can’t say enough about the caring staff. They are all kind, friendly, and most of all, highly professional. Maisie has not yet turned a year old and has already passed her Canine Good Citizenship test and has earned the title of certified therapy dog. We could not have achieved this without the expertise of Riley and the rest of the K-9 Center staff. We look forward to continuing our training. Who knows how far we can go? Wow what an amazing experience we had. We have a South African Boerbel weighing at 111lb at 7m. We gave him in for the board and train program for 2 weeks and Riley did an AMAZING job! We got him back well trained and behaved :) when we came back for our follow up our dog was so excited to be back and see Riley and the other trainers. I highly highly recommend these guys for training!!! A huge THANK YOU Riley!!!!

I’ve been thinking over the past few days about how to write my review for the K9 Center. I could try to describe the distress my wife and I experienced after adopting a puppy (who turned out to be an affectionate, but difficult mix of guard and herding dog) and how the K9 Center helped us through the initial puppy training. I could describe how brilliant and compassionate all the staff are and how they care deeply for every single animal that walks through their door. I could try to describe the level of professionalism, integrity, and expertise they displayed throughout the entire adult “board and train” program, how they sent full videos of our puppy's progress with notes, and how they continue to provide in-person expert care, advice, and assistance. I could try to do those things, but frankly, seeing is believing. Our dog no longer displays any of the troublesome behaviors (cat chasing, destructive behavior, being unable to stop moving, even when in one place, and almost no impulse control). On command, he now responds to his name, sits, will keep a “place and stay” on his bed, will respond to "off" if he jumps or grabs something he shouldn’t, and has leash etiquette and impulse control. (Which our cat appreciates.) It’s a day after Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for many things and am extremely lucky in many ways, but one thing I’m especially thankful for is the K9 Center. They are beyond belief.
