The Hyper Pup Dog Training

I had no business getting a second dog. (Just ask my first dog.) But my first dog, Whiskey, and I had settled into a comfortable routine and I thought there was room in our lives for another. However, the dog we ended up with, Obie, immediately took up all of that room and then some. He ran roughshod over both of us, terrorized the neighbors (who lovingly refer to him as Cujo) from behind our Invisible Fence, and destroyed roughly $57,000 worth of household items in six months. And worst of all, I could not walk him on a leash more than 20 feet away from our house without him seizing up in fear and whipping me in circles. I returned from at least one “walk” with my hands bleeding from the friction of the leash. I needed help. Thanks to my daughter’s online research, help arrived in the form of Hyper Pup K9 Training. Armando sized Obie and me up within ten minutes of meeting us. With directness but good humor he laid out the problem: Obie needed a strong leader and I needed to learn how to be that leader. And, then, within a few minutes, he had Obie walking quietly by his side at heel. And the hope of a whole new way of life opened up. Armando spelled out what I needed to do in a clear and calm way. He was extremely generous with his time and his expertise. He patiently and good-naturedly answered all of my questions and offered to provide more help whenever I feel I need it. Which I will. Obie and I are a work in progress, to be sure. (Armando says to work toward ‘slow and steady’ improvement. We’ve got the slow part down; we’re working on the steady.) But I walk Obie every day and there has been no more bloodshed. Today, he and Whiskey both sat on their new “place” mat for the first time at my command and repeatedly ran across the yard to me when I called, “Come.” None of this would have been possible without Armando’s instructions and guidance. He’s given me confidence that the worst days are behind us and our best days ahead. And now, if you hear me outside yelling for Whiskey, I’m just calling my dog. Thank you, Armando!

After much pressure from my family to rehome my unruly Great Dane, I contacted Armando for help. He was so helpful, professional and gave me hope. My dog entered his 3 week board and train program with a goal for me to be able to walk her safely. She is now a pleasure to walk. I feel confident and safe when we walk now as I continue to manage her impulses. The best part is that Armando continues to work with us and is always available for help with questions. Highly recommend!

What can I say? I had my puppy go for a 3 week board & train. Armando really was amazing with my 1 year old pup. With Armando's training and constant guidance for me, Cooper is walking on a leash like a champ. He's also listening so much better and is not a "pushy" pup. Where to start. We called Armando after we had gotten to a point that we realized both our family and our dog were at a breaking point. Our 2 year old pit mix, Bo, was becoming harder to control, territorial of our yard, and increasingly uncertain of other dogs. Bo is love. He is a snuggle bug, and just a great dog, but at the same time he is an excitable dog with a high prey drive and an inability to focus in distracting environments. This is a dangerous mix. His high prey drive led to a few backyard breakouts and altercations with other dogs in our neighborhood. With two little kids, another dog, and a neighborhood full of people around us, we knew we had to do something different before someone or our dog got hurt. Armando took Bo in for a 4 week Board and Train program. During our time working together so far, Armando is communicative, knowledgeable, such a great teacher! and most of all, honest. He never sugar coats and tells you exactly what he believes your dog needs. Armando weaned Bo off of Prozac while in his care and created a structured training environment for Bo. He shared with us what he was learning about Bo throughout the process and what to be prepared for when he came home. We started our training with Armando in preparation of bringing Bo back home during the fourth week. During just the first visit, yes, we, saw big changes in Bo, but more importantly - we learned so much from Armando. He trained us, in order for us to train Bo. This is not a "magic" solution. Sending your dog to Board and Train does not mean they are going to come home a different animal and stay that way. This takes a change in your own mindset, and a dedication to the long-term management of your dog. With that mindset, we have had Bo home for a little over 24 hours, and are already so hopeful for the future of our family and our new relationship with our dog. Prior to leaving for Board and Train, Bo could not be walked on a leash. Now, we have gone on 6 walks just since I've picked him up. When people entered the house, he used to bark and jump to get attention. My parents visited yesterday. He did not bark once, did not jump once, and stayed by my side their entire visit. I mentioned before his hesitancy and aggression with other dogs. Today, we passed a dog on the other side of the street. He did not bark. He sat calmly with me, and waited for the dog to pass. Armando provides you and your dog with the skills, tools and knowledge to succeed. He facilitates a relationship of respect. We have a ways to go, but so far so good!!
