The Hyper Pup Dog Training

Our dog Uno was highly fear-reactive, and we struggled for months to find the right help. We chose the 4-week Board & Train program with Armando at The Hyper Pup, which gave Uno the time he needed to build trust before training began. Uno has already made great progress! Armando opened our eyes to how fearful Uno really was and showed us how we were accidentally contributing to his stress. He is now training us to be the strong leaders Uno needs. Armando's patience and care have been amazing, and we highly recommend Armando and The Hyper Pup to everyone!

I first reached out to Armando in crisis mode. Of course, I should not have let it get that far before reaching out; however, the point is that I reached out, and I am beyond happy with that decision. There had been a bite or two - explainable but not justified or excusable. I had had the same breed of dog for the past (almost) 30 years of my life. But clearly I needed help. My dog Moose (a 16-month-old Rottweiler) went for a three-week board-and-train program. There was a significant improvement in Moose's behavior overall after the program. However, what needed/needs the most improvement/change/direction was not Moose, but me! Armando clearly loves what he does and knows what he is doing! He gives very clear direction, but at the same time, if there is something I didn't understand or didn't remember, I never felt embarrassed to ask again for clarification. He has made himself available for any and all questions, and continues to work with us in private lessons even after graduating from the program to ensure that I am getting the best out of Moose, and Moose is getting the best out of me.

I got Dottie from a situation where she was allowed to rule the roost. She greeted friends at the door by jumping in their face and licking them. She pulled on the leash to the point where I fell more than once and had to wrap the leash around her to have at least some control. She counter surfed for food and got in the garbage. She had no manners, little structure and I was struggling even though I had taken obedience training elsewhere years before and thought I had this. I realized I didn’t have it and I needed help when she was so excited to greet my 5 year old grandson, she cornered him and licked him causing him to bonk his head into a door knob, resulting in a black eye. I did my research and found Armando at the Hyper Pup!! Armando has taught me how to be the leader, how to provide structure to Dottie, and how to have expectations of good behavior. Dottie is now able to walk on a loose leash, sit, down, stay and place all of which has made it that I have friends and family visiting again! They’re not fearful that Dottie will knock them over to lick them and welcome them in. Dottie caught on faster than I did, but with Armando’s instruction, knowledge and expertise, I am a better dog mom!! Both Dottie and I have grown through the 1:1 training sessions and have learned valuable skills that make living with a dog even better!! Presently we are working on recall and I’m excited to see us get this skill down too so she can be off leash safely. If you are looking for an excellent trainer, look no further. We rescued Stevie two years ago and after no luck with a previous trainer we chose the Hyper Pup Dog Training with Armando. Stevie has made great strides after her boarding and training. Stevie was very aggressive with my husband and now they have a loving relationship using the tools that Armando has given us. Armando is very responsive with any questions and or issues that arise during and after training. I cannot recommend his services enough. Please know Stevie is deaf and incredibly anxious Armando is excellent with special needs dogs.

I rescued my boy Chip in February, he was skittish and fearful of just about everything. Unable to focus and settle, I brought him to Armando in May to work on obedience and help him find his confidence. Happy to say that after a 3 week board and train, Chip has an entire new outlook on life, and is obedient and slowly trusting himself and the world more. Cannot recommend Armando enough to anyone looking to give their dog a better life!
