FirstBarkMaynard is great. He is Extremely knowledgeable and has well thought out answers for all of our questions and concerns. His explanation of the "why" behind the behavior is a huge win for any pet parent. I would most definitely recommend him

We cannot say enough good things about Maynard at The Good Dog. When we first got our dog Luna, she was honestly pretty feral—so much so that she even bit the vet. We were overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. Thankfully, the vet recommended Maynard and had his card on hand, which ended up being a total game changer for us. We signed up for one of their higher-tier programs, and it was worth every single penny. Not only did Luna transform into such a well-behaved, confident dog, but we also became educated dog owners in the process. Maynard doesn’t just train your dog—he teaches you how to communicate, lead, and build a real relationship with them. One of the best parts is that after completing the program, you get access to unlimited group classes, which has been huge for maintaining Luna’s progress and continuing to build her skills. If you’re dealing with a challenging dog or just want the best possible foundation, I highly, highly recommend Maynard and The Good Dog program. Total transformation. Total confidence. Worth it 100%.

Working with Maynard has been one of the best decisions we have made for our Miniature Australian puppy. If you aren't aware Aussies are high energy working dogs. Even after reading extensively about the breed I was entirely unprepared for the wild puppy that I had just brought home. I was so close to not being able to keep her but I didn't want to give up because I've heard they are the most amazing dogs! I was referred by a friend who has a very large strong willed dog that had used Maynard and I could not believe how well behaved he was so I gave him a call. He truly understands dog behavior and provided clear, positive, simple training techniques that really work. Our puppy has made great progress with loose leash walking, focus and overall manners. Just as important, he taught us how to be better, more confident dog owners. The support, patience and expertise he provides are outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring dog trainer.
