The Good Dog Yorktown

When I decided to get another Yorki, I was determined that this time would be different. I didn't just want a cute dog, I wanted one that actually had manners and favorable behaviors. LOL - I came across The Good Dog Yorktown and submitted an inquiry. Both Katie and Morgan contacted me right away. I signed up to have a private consultation with Morgan first as my Bentley was only 4 months old. She suggested that I enroll in their beginners class. Bentley would NOT even walk! He would take a few steps and then sit down to where I had to physically tug the leash just to get him to move. We kept working and eventually he did so well. He responded to his name and would listen to basic commands, such as sit, down, and a partial stay. Afterwards, I again worked with Morgan to do a board and stay. This was by far one of the BEST decisions I could have made. Due to my busy work and community volunteer schedule, I was not able to consistently work with Bentley as I properly should. We would meet in stores that were dog friendly and Morgan would demonstrate what we would need to continue once Bentley came home. She offered us tailored solutions that focused on Bentley's needs and we are forever grateful! If you are on the fence, do it! I love having a pet that can function and behave appropriately in almost any place without issue. I recommend them 1000 times!!

We have been taking classes here since 2022 and have learned so much. It keeps our two very active Australian Shepherds enriched. In addition to obedience, they have great agility, nose work and trick training classes that our dogs love. They are always excited when we start getting close to the building. They also offer outdoor classes that allow you to gain experience in real world situations and explore new places around the city. Amber, Katie and Morgan are all great trainers and we have been nothing but happy with all of our classes. HIGHLY recommend!
