The Educated Pet was founded in San Diego in 1998 to meet the needs of conscientious pet owners who are faced with uncertainty about how to forge a life-long relationship with their furry friends or how to deal with problems that threaten that relationship. The founder, Carol Harris, has been a devoted, life-long, dog and cat owner and has over thirty years of experience in animal training and behavior. Carol holds a certification in Applied Animal Behavior from the University of Washington and has studied under one of the foremost animal behaviorists, James Ha, CAAB, Ph. D. Carol Harris is a dog whisperer!! She is brilliant at her craft, and I am blessed to have her in my (and my pup Maggie’s) life. She is a constant source of training and pet health information. Thank you Carol and Mike!
I have trained all my pups with Carol Harris, owner of The Educated pet. I think we’ve been working with Carol for close to 20 years and three Laboradors. Each puppy has had a different personality and their own challenges, Carol is a dog magician, able to evaluate and give the appropriate guidance. People ask me all the time who my trainer is, and I am always happy to share Carol’s info.
I've taken classes and had private training at The Educated Pet for over 10 years. I've had wonderful results with my dog and can't thank Carol and Mike enough!!
