No, a dog can be trained at any age as long as your willing to put the time in needed to work with them.

Dog Wizard is aptly named…they are wizards! My 3.5 pound Yorkie, Izzy, was recently trained in the Foundation Class at the Dog Wizard in Fort Collins, CO. I was very apprehensive about her training, given her size, young age and the fact I had never owned a dog before. My fears were addressed with kindness and compassion without judgement by the remarkable staff. Izzy loved her training and was excited to go each day. I received written “report cards” of her progress at every session. The icing on the cake for me was the staff not only trained my sweet dog, they trained me. I needed lots of support and information given my lack of experience with dogs. Again the staff was generous with their time and never any judgement of my constant questions. The best part is how successful the training was for Izzy. She can Heel and Place with the best of them and I couldn’t be happier. And the training isn’t over. The Dog Wizard offers socialization every week and refresher training on Saturdays for life with little or no additional cost. I’m also considering advanced training in the future. Best money I ever spent and worth every penny.

I can’t recommend The Dog Wizard highly enough. I have taken multiple dogs through training programs out of state and when I got a new puppy here in Colorado, my vet highly recommended The Dog Wizard as she’d been in training there with her puppy. From my first meeting with Sammy I was sold. The training method creates a calm and responsive dog, without losing their personality or being too obedient or shut down. In the puppy program, the puppies have a chance to safely learn how to socialize with other puppies. I am such a believer in the program that I brought my 3 year old dog, who has been through advanced training to help him build his confidence. The trainers all care about each individual dog and are generous with their time in trying to come up with the best methods to support each individual dog. Once you graduate a class there are many other options to continue training with drop in classes or the free weekly support class. I can’t thank everyone at this facility enough- from Bri who happily takes all my calls to schedule my multiple dogs, to Sammy and Marcus who teach my classes to Brenden and Austin who support us at social hours and support class, and Jess for creating such an amazing community. You can’t go wrong with The Dog Wizard!
