The Dog Wizard Charlotte

This year I was faced with the challenge of taking in my late friend’s dog so that he wouldn’t have to be surrendered. Thor was not socialized, untrusting of most people (especially men) and had some anxious and aggressive behavior. Thor went from living in the country with a big yard to romp in and little to no rules, to living with me, in a city apartment, and many MANY new rules I needed him to follow. I had never trained an adult dog out before, and did not know where to start with him. Dog Wizard and their trainers (Particularly Alissa) worked with Thor in their board and train program first, then with me in private lessons afterwards. They worked with my hectic schedule and travel plans, and supported us both through & through. They helped me take on a new responsibility in a pretty hard time in my life, and gave me the tools and direction we needed to get Thor to his full potential. Training a dog is a huge investment of time, effort and money, but I will say with full confidence: investing in Dog Wizard is worth it. Every penny. Thank you Alissa & the Dog Wizard team for helping me and Thor, and I look forward to continuing down this path with you all!

We started working with Alissa when our Sedona was about three months old. First in home and then she spent three weeks at training when she was about six months old. She is e-collar trained and way ahead of most one year old pups with her discipline and training. We understand that most of obedience training is training the family and continue to utilize their services to fine tune our happy little girl.

I’m so grateful to the Dog Wizard for helping Stella Marie develop the skills and behaviors that she’ll carry into adulthood. Kiki (our trainer) is an amazing teacher, and Stella blossomed at Summer Camp 2024! She participated in so many important learning experiences and lessons that I could never have provided by myself. This organization is well managed and transparent about the services they provide. They are responsive to client needs and questions. Kind, caring and professional. They are, after all, wizards!🥰🥰

I LOVE Dog Wizard!!! They made my "anxious" dog into a loyal, loving dog. When I go out I no longer worry about what she will tear up next. She literally destroyed 3 remote controlled helicopters an a remote controlled airplane!!! We couldn't open the front door. She is a "Houdini" dog! No matter what crate I put her in she would get out of it! I knew I needed to do something. So, off to Charlotte Dog Wizard she went. They trained her to walk in "heel" command on my left and with "right" command on my right side because my husband is in a VA Home & she needs to be on his right side when we go down the halls. She's trained to sit at a veterans side so they can pet her. She's trained to go into the "down" position if there is an aggressive dog trying to get to her. She's such a good dog. She still doesn't like a crate at home and can literally get out of one that you think she can't. But, I put her in "place" and she pretty much stays there but if not, she's where she is allowed to be without tearing up one thing! All her treats & food are at a level with her eyes & she has NEVER tried to get into them! I get compliments all the time about how sweet, loving and good she is. And, she is funny! There is a dog camp across the road from us that she attends once a week, because I live so far away from Dog Wizard, and she is the only one the squeezes her but into the water bucket for all of her friends too drink from!!! She wouldn't be this good of a dog if she hadn't been trained so well from Charlotte Dog Wizard. Thank you guys for helping Raven be the best dog for me!!!
