The Dog Knowledge

I registered my standard poodle, Rose, with The Dog Knowledge after a recommendation from a friend, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we inquired, communication was prompt and clear. We were brought in for an evaluation, and the staff made us feel incredibly comfortable, providing honest feedback without trying to oversell services. They prescribed exactly what Rose needed. The facility is not only clean but also charming, with a cute lodging village for the dogs. We were given a few dates to choose from for her four-week training program, and throughout the process, they kept us updated to ease our concerns, especially since Rose was only seven months old at the time. Each week, we received images and a report card on her progress, which was a nice touch. We even got to schedule a visit, where they went above and beyond to demonstrate Rose's newfound abilities. The staff truly cared for our Rose, and I appreciated their realistic and honest approach—no hard selling, just a focus on setting us up for success based on our dog's abilities. I cannot say enough about their excellent communication and the care they provided. Highly recommend The Dog Knowledge!

We enrolled our 4 year old black lab Ghillie in The Dog Knowledge Obedience training course and are very pleased with both the results as well as our experience with the staff and “parent training!” We sent Ghillie away to a trainer when she was 8 months old and while the trainer was good, we figured out later about 75% of the trainer’s focus was field trial training and 25% obedience. Ghillie is not even close to a field trial lab and over time we realized we would all benefit from a different “positive” approach. The Dog Knowledge has proved to be exactly what she, and I imagine what all dogs destined to be loving family dogs, needed for training. She no longer pulls on a leash, walks at our heel when told and is getting better and better at “place”- a relief for our sofa’s and a welcome change from being underfoot while preparing meals. We learned a great deal at “Graduation” where Dennis and company work with parents on all the commands and we left feeling very comfortable with our role in Ghillie’s continued reinforcement of her new behavior knowledge. In addition, there is a great talk at graduation on how dogs think and learn, and while we have had labs for many years, we still learned a great deal. Finally, after graduation we had our two week “home visit” where one of the trainers comes to your home to simply review everything with you and answer any and all questions you have over the past two weeks. Dennis came out and was very patient as we asked questions and practiced again in front of him while he gave us many insightful pointers. It was a great reinforcement for us and the fun part was how excited Ghillie was to see Dennis! We would recommend The Dog Knowledge to anyone with a dog- young or older- who wants to have a well behaved companion -without having fear based training take away their spirit check out The Dog Knowledge for themselves. I guarantee you will be impressed to see the calm dogs of all breeds chilling on their beds all in the open training area! It was a great experience for Ghillie and her parents!

We are thrilled with how much our puppy Ruby learned in her 4 weeks of training with Dennis and his wonderful staff at The Dog Knowledge. At graduation, we were trained how to use all the commands that Ruby learned during her 4 weeks and we are having great success using all of them at home. Amazing place! We have done daycare & training here for our 6 month old English Cream Golden and he absolutely loved it. Their training program is wonderful, they take time to train you as the owner and a month after his program, our dog is still following through with everything he learned. When we pull up for day care his tail starts waging and he can't wait to get inside. Everyone who works there is super nice, professional, knowledgeable & great to work with; more importantly our dog Louie absolutely loves it. Highly recommend.
