The Canine Coach - Palm Bay

I used this business for boarding purposes not training. I met with Joe first before using his services. During the meet up he told me how they ran things and when I asked where the dogs would sleep he said he cages them in the garage. I explained to him that we don't cage our dog and she's always been free around the house never causes damage. He proceed to tell me that she could stay inside the house with his dog who sleeps inside the house not On a cage. I left my dog there one day as a trial and when I picked her up everything was fine. To verify I asked him how it all went and where did she sleep. He said she slept inside with his dog in a dog bed that goes above the floors. So I said ok. I trusted them and proceeded to continue to use their services because at this point I felt like we were on the same page and I was aware of the treatment my dog was receiving. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago i left my dog there again for like 5 nights. (Thinking she was receiving the care we had agree to). When my husband picks her up he notices she is bleeding by her nose. I message Joe to see if he knew how that happen when he told me that maybe it was when she was in her cage when they went out for Thanksgiving. This took me by surprise because I didn't know she was going to be caged up. During the meet up he reassure me she wouldn't be. And that they don't go out much and get groceries picked up so they aren't gone for long. So I messaged him because i was confused. And even in my message I asked if she slept In a cage and then he told me that only when he went out for Thanksgiving. So at this point I still thought she was sleeping In the house not In a cage in the garage. Today I went to confirm what they were doing and how she was being treated. I told him to be honest and asked if she slept In a cage or in the house as we agreed to. He said she was caged and that she did well being kennel and that is his policy to protect his house. I told him ok but you told me she wouldn't be and now you tell me that she was. He wasn't honest. I felt like during the meet up he told me just what I wanted to hear. During our conversation he was rude. Told me that he doesn't care that is his house and he will not be told how to run his business. And I told him when it comes to my dog yes if you are going to change our agreement you need to tell me. And he said no I don't I don't have to tell you because this is my house. That was a huge red flag for me. The way he talked to me was aggressive and unprofessional. Therefore I didn't feel like I could trust them and decided not to leave my dog with them anymore. I will add that when I pulled to the house today the garage had a bunch of cages and many many dogs in them he stated there was AC in the garage and pointed it out but i didnt hear it running and he tried to close the garage door when i try to get close. He said he's a trainer and that's his policy but my problem is that he changed things and didn't disclose it to us. He told me she wouldn't be kept In a cage and then did and never notify me that he would. Then when i asked him, he literally told me he doesn't need to disclose anything to me because that's his house and his business. Honestly, some would be ok with this arrangement but we weren't and Joe knew that because we had a full conversation during the meet up. I don't feel like there was open honest communication. And since the trust was broken I didn't feel like they are the right fit to care for our dog. If they tell me my dog was going to be kept in the house but they put her in a cage instead (she never cause damage in their house) they should have notify me that moving forward that's what they were going to do instead I believed things stayed the same as we agreed to during the meet up. He said dogs fight and damage the house and that's why he cages them. I can understand that but my problem is that, that is not what we initially agreed to on by text he said it was just for Thanksgiving but he didn't disclose he did it at night too. I felt like he was dishonest.

Review for The Canine Coach Dog Boarding Our experience with The Canine Coach was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. We initially chose this service based on their assurances that our dog would not be caged during boarding. However, upon arrival, my wife accidentally saw their garage, which was filled with cages. When she questioned this, the owner, Joe, responded rudely, stating it was his house and he could do whatever he wanted. This was a blatant contradiction of what we were told when we booked. This incident only added to a previous concern when our dog returned with a small cut on her nose, and no explanation or accountability was offered. The lack of transparency and care was unsettling, but Joe’s dismissive attitude when confronted about the boarding conditions was unacceptable. Honesty and respect should be the foundation of any pet care business, and unfortunately, The Canine Coach fell short on both counts. If you’re considering this service, I strongly urge you to think twice and proceed with caution.

Bri & Joseph have actually changed my family & I’d life. As cliche as that sounds, I was so stressed with potty training… they went above & beyond to teach her so much… including commands & walking outside by my side. If I could, I would recommend everyone in the world to go to them. The moment I met them I could see the love they have for animals & that to me says everything. They truly know there’s a way to fix everything & they don’t give up. Hope they are ready for my other two dogs!!!

Amazing! We did a 4 week off leash training with our massive German shepherd. Boy does our dog have some spunk, attitude, and energy. I didn’t have high hopes because we had been training just not consistently. We just wanted our pup to have some better manners when instructed. He came home as the same great dog with all his craziness. He also came home with way more training than I expected. Trust me when I say he didn’t loose his personality but, just now behaves when needed. I couldn’t be more happy. While he knew a lot of commands he wouldn’t stay in commands for long periods of time. Now, he does and it’s making our crazy lives of lots of people around so much easier on everyone. Whatever juju magic The Canine Coach has was the perfect match for our needs. He will be going back for another week of more training and anytime we go out of town, The Canine Coach is who we will use!
