The Barking Zone

Upon recommendation from our friends, we had our two dogs, Duke and Bentley, do a week long board and train with Rick and his staff at The Barking Zone. Both our dogs were big time pullers on walks and weren't the best at following commands at home. After a week, we were able to pick up Bentley, but Rick suggested a few more days for Duke and for him to get a remote collar. Rick was great at both of the pick up sessions for our dogs. He showed us how to do everything and then watched and helped us do the commands with the dogs to make sure we had them down. We could not be happier with the results we have seen from their training.

My dog Moose was terrible on a walk and barked at every new person that came to my house. I decided to try the two week board and train program after hearing great things about The Barking Zone from coworkers. It's been great! I finally feel like I have the methods and tools to have the relationship with my dog that I want. He's much calmer and has improved significantly on walks. Also, the place command has been a game changer. Rick has been so helpful. He checks in and continues to provide help with techniques that we've had trouble with at home. We have an 8 year old Australian Shepherd mix rescue dog who has ruled our roost for almost 8 years (along with our other dog, who is much better behaved)! He is so high strung, can't wait for something to bark at and very territorial. But we love him. I finally had had enough and decided with much trepidation, yet full of optimism to give Rick's training program a try. Daycare and Foundation Party ($350.00). We trained the first week in November for 4 days. I held my breath for Thanksgiving as we had 15 people and 2 extra dogs staying at our home for several days. Although I had worked the program, I was still nervous that he would fall back to his old ways. LET ME TELL YOU, WE HAD A THANKSGIVING MIRACLE! He behaved so well, that's all everyone talked about. Today, UPS dropped packages at our front door and I didn't even know because he wasn't barking and trying to eat the poor delivery man through the window. Not a peep. I highly recommend Rick's program. You have to do the homework, but honestly, it's not an overwhelming amount of time. Maybe 15-30 minutes a day. Bottom line is, with Rick's direction, and a little time following up, you truly can teach an old dog new tricks!
