I waited to write this review until Diggs was home for awhile. Dave and his team took in our Mini Golden Doodle (10 months old at the time) for two weeks at the end of June. We were apprehensive but I trusted Dave after we met. I would highly recommend his services! Our puppy is so much more well behaved. He understands he is a dog, not a human. He is now a darling and party favorite even for men (who he generally did not like before, except the men he’s known since he was a puppy). Limited barking, obedient and charming with strangers. If you are on the fence, go for it! Listen to Dave!

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and gentle trainer, look no further. After having a bad experience with a previous trainer, we decided to move on and try a new one. A co-worker recommended Dave Putman from The Art of Dog. He taught us how to lead our dog, instead of our dog leading us. Dave makes himself available, for any and all questions that arise. A+++ experience. We would definitely seek his services again.

I can’t say enough great things about Dave. He took in my Doberman mix puppy for the 2 week board & train program when she was 7 months old and completely transformed the way she responds to me, the way she walks on a leash, and her overall attitude towards other people and other dogs. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dog trainer in the Buffalo area!!

Working with Dave & The Art of Dog was one of the best experiences I’ve had thus far as a lifelong pet owner. From the responsiveness of the very first message I left, to the detailed understanding of what it takes to manage both yourself and your dog; I could not recommend them enough. If you need help with your dog, there shouldn’t be any more looking around necessary - choose The Art of Dog.

We just completed our five one-on-one lessons with our 18 month old bloodhound. Mallory introduced the prong & e-collars with such ease, after we struggled for several months. Gunner is a joy to walk now! They are accessible for questions/concerns throughout the training process and afterwards as well. Mallory was very professional, punctual, and a great communicator!
