What ages of dogs can you train at The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training?
We train dogs at any age, from young puppies to senior dogs. Private lessons are open to dogs of all ages, and we tailor each program to your dog’s age, breed, and individual behavior needs.
For our Board & Train program, dogs must be at least 4 months old. Beyond that, there is no dog too old for training — we work with adolescent, adult, and senior dogs every day.
If your dog needs early socialization, obedience, or a full behavior reset, we’ll help you choose the right program for their stage of life.

Our Board & Train programs start at $1,820 for basic training.
Pricing increases based on the level of training you choose. We also create custom programs when a dog requires additional time or specialized behavioral work.
We offer three core options:
Basic - 14-day program
Enhanced - 21-day program
Advanced - 28-day program
Every Board & Train includes:
Daily one-on-one training
Safe, structured boarding
On-leash and off-leash obedience depending on the program you choose
Behavior work for reactivity, fear, or aggression (if needed)
Owner training before going home
Free lifetime refresher classes every 1st and 3rd Saturday

Yes, we welcome puppies 4 months and older into our daycare program as long as they are appropriately vaccinated.
At this age, puppies are developmentally ready for structured socialization, clear boundaries, and calm play around other dogs. Our trained staff ensures a safe, supervised environment so young dogs build confidence and good habits from the start.

I’m an animal lover but not an experienced dog trainer. So when we got our new puppy, Bella, a golden retriever at 8 weeks old, I realized I was going to need some help. At 16 weeks old, we sent Bella to the academy for the 2 week basic training program.
The staff were professional, explained every step of the way, and welcomed questions. The facility was very nice and clean. We received updates with pictures and video regularly.
Bella learned so much. She follows all of the commands. The academy makes sure the owner knows how to give the commands and they are also available for questions if I have any.
This experience has helped me in her overall training because the basic training commands can be used in our day to day activities.
Im very grateful for the academy and the staff members who did an amazing job. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Bella!

We did the 2 week train and board with our 16 week old lab puppy. I really appreciate the care and concern that was shown to give our precious puppy the best training experience possible. He has definitely come home a better puppy. We will continue working at home to build on the skills he learned. Also for the rest of his life we can take him back 2 times a month for refresher training! I think this is awesome! I highly recommend Brian and Maddie. Maddie has been checking on us since we came home and is very prompt with any questions.
