The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training (formerly Taming the Wild)

In February, a very pregnant dog was abandoned at our place. We took her in. 10 days later, she had puppies. Six months later, our dog family has expanded to include sweet Vallie, and 3 of her pups. I was and am still, completely in love. However; we already had 2 extremely bossy, adult dogs who had very little tolerance for large, bouncy puppies that had no idea how to stay in their own lane! I am also a 68 y.o. woman, and I realized that physically, I needed control. I realized I needed manners instilled into these pups that were, and still are, getting larger by the day. (The largest pup is already approaching 65-70 lbs!) Ultimately, because of the chaos that erupted every time I had the pups inside, I became very worried that at some point the dogs would start fighting and someone would get hurt. And as much as I love the puppies, I also love my other dogs. So in desperation, I started looking for help and real solutions. I had no idea that Tupelo academy for canines even existed. But after stumbling onto it via google, and reading the reviews, I reached out. And I am so thankful I did! To date, 2 of the 3 pups have completed the basic board and train course. And wow, what a difference. I can honestly say the canine academy has been the answer to my prayers. I know I could not have managed all of these pups without help. This has given me control. And it has made it possible for all of the dogs to have a quality life now as integrated members of our family. I can’t thank Madi, Nick and Bryan enough. They have given me and the pups the tools we need to do this. The daily training videos are extremely helpful since you see your dog’s training in progress. And the turn over session before the dog comes home was designed to make sure I had the right sequencing when i worked with the puppies. The follow up support has been a literal safety net. There have been texts to make sure all is going well, and to make sure i did not have questions or problems as I navigate through incorporating the training into our daily routines. I also plan on attending some of the weekend follow up refreshers with them. I am extremely grateful to have found TACBT. Because of their help, I see a happy future ahead for us all as the puppies become great additions to our family!

I HIGHLY recommend coming to these guys for your training. I have a pit mix and she had severe anxiety causing her to be aggressive she absolutely hated anything loud! After 3wks they have my girl seeing the world in a completely different view ready to explore while also taking commands with ease. Keep in mind she was over 3yrs old when we got this training started and I would do it all again if I had to. The best part is the relationship is for life so you don’t just walk away after it’s over the training continues with their help for life ❤️

We are only a couple of days away from finishing Charli’s two-week board-and-train, and I already know this review is going to be easy to write. I brought Charli here because she is a Great Pyrenees—and as much as I love her, I knew I needed help learning how to communicate with a dog who is going to be VERY big and VERY strong. My daughters were concerned that she would become difficult for me to manage as she grew, and honestly, they were right to encourage me to do this. From the beginning, Bryan has been wonderful. The training has been structured, thoughtful, and clearly based on understanding the dog rather than simply correcting behavior. What has impressed me most is the communication with me. I have received training videos every day, along with homework so that I am learning right alongside Charli. I’m not simply dropping my dog off and picking up a “trained dog.” I am being taught how to continue the training and, more importantly, how to communicate with her for the rest of her life. And then there’s the part that really sold me: Bryan doesn’t consider this training finished when I pick Charli up. He has offered lifetime support by text and additional lessons on the first and third Saturdays if there is ever something Charli needs more work on. That is an extraordinary commitment to the dogs—and to their owners. In the videos I am already seeing a difference in Charli, but I think the biggest difference may be in me. I feel more confident, more knowledgeable, and much better prepared to give this wonderful dog the structure she needs. We are not quite finished yet, but I can already say that choosing to have Charli trained here was one of the best decisions I’ve made for both of us. And yes… I’m counting the hours until Tuesday when I get my girl back. ❤️🐾
