Dennis is an amazing, gentel and caring handler. Insures that the safety of your dog is a top priority. Whether you’re doing day training or boarding training he takes the time to give a report card on how the dog is doing. I opted to do a six-week boarding on-site training program. Dennis took time every week to text me the status on how she was progressing during her coursework and overall health and status. I recently took my dog on her first pheasant hunting trip, you could immediately tell that the training she received from Team Gundogs payed off. Not only was she able to flush birds out, she was also able to retrieve and return the pheasant with a soft bite that did not destroy the bird. I look forward to taking her back to do advanced training once hunting season is completed. By the way Dennis is a true patriot and provides military discounts.

I met Dennis (Vanin) after winning a dog training session at the Kiowa Creek Sporting Club 4th of July shooting event. Coincidentally, I am a first time sporting dog owner looking for all the help I can get. My, 1 year old, German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) "Moose" was taking out planted birds with barely a point. Dennis explained the current stage of the dog and how Moose was going on point based on sight. When birds were in taller cover Moose would push until he was on top of them. Utilizing Dennis's homing pigeons and launchers has progressed Moose very well without the added bird costs. Dennis explained the "scent cone" and how to set Moose up for success. Each session Moose utilizes his nose, more and more, identified based on the distance from bird that he goes on point. The launchers have also helped teach Moose that if he moves early the bird will get away. I am now able to repeatedly walk in on the bird without Moose releasing. Dennis took extra time during a FREE session to educate me on his training approach and what he thought were the next steps for Moose. Based on the excellent first impression, I have continued weekly training sessions with Dennis. He is easy to work with, flexible, and always responds to texts. Anyone with realistic expectations, loves spending time with their dog, and is open-minded will enjoy learning from Dennis. The only problem is that your dog is going to learn faster than you!

Ok, to be honest, my husband and I have been trying to hunt pheasants on our own, without a dog, with no luck. As novice hunters, we decided to go to Kiowa with my dad and Dennis was our guide, along with his dogs Sassy and Johna. Under his guidence, my husband and I were finally able to take home pheasants. Dennis was a fantastic guide. He gave us tips as we walked and got us up close to the birds. He showed us where they were then put us in the best position before flushing them; it was an awesome experience, even though we missed a lot. We both learned a lot and both dogs did a great job finding them for us. We cannot wait to go back. I would recommend Dennis for any new or seasoned hunters.
