Tazmanian K-9 Training

We met with Tevin for a consult with our 1 year old mixed breed dog who had some aggression issues and an attitude problem. Tevin immediately understood him, and said that his issues stemmed from his constant nervousness and that he didn’t have the confidence to just be a dog. We completed the 8 week intermediate program, and by the end of it, my nervous nut of a dog was listening and focused, able to calmly participate in *supervised* group activities, and a good boy, obedient on and off leash. We’ve continued working, and he has been able to walk by other dogs without losing his mind, greet new people at home in a relatively calm fashion, and most of the behavior problems we had are gone. There are still things we need to work on, and we are. This dog will never be a dog park dog or go to daycare, but with Tevin’s help, we will move through life together comfortably. It’s foolish to expect perfection in 8 weeks. Having a well trained dog isn’t a matter of a few weeks of training, it’s a lifelong commitment and lifestyle. But we gained the tools to move into what I hope will be a lifetime of a well behaved dog.
