Supreme Canine

Phill trained our 2 corgi's Korra (3 years) and Ollie (11 months). Korra was already pretty well trained in basic commands, but needed more socialization (especially about letting Ollie play with other dogs) and we needed help with barking in our house. Ollie had some "aggression" towards food, nail trimming, and a weird dislike of collar's being clipped closed. He also did not have much basic commands. Our concerns were that they would not have these issues while with Phill, but he assured us that training continues after the dogs come home. Korra is nearly an entirely different dog when she's away from home, and the barking issue could not be addressed with Phill. This is where Phill's continued assistance has come into play. Not only did Ollie have terrible recall that we opted to get an ecollar for him, we got a bark collar for Korra. Phill allowed us to borrow an ecollar for Ollie while we waited for ours to arrive. Showed us how to ethically correct Ollie in our home. When the 2 collars arrived, Phill came back again to help us with the new ecollar and bark collar for Korra and trained us all on their uses. Then, because of the corgi's thick long hair, he had long prongs for the collars already and dropped those off within a few days as well. The continued dedication, excellent training, and communication cannot be beat, and thats on top of the impressive training on commands. Not only have we been discussing their training with some friends, we are considering addition training for Ollie to become a PTSD service dog, should he have the proper temperament when he's a bit older.

Our now ~5 Blue Heeler showed up on our doorstep after we moved into a new neighborhood a few years back. While he immediately showed he could be trained, he always struggled with leash reactivity. From seeing other dogs, to even seeing some of his favorite people, he just couldn’t contain himself and bit at it. In the first year, if I was too close to him, he’d go to nip at me if he couldn’t get the leash. Moreover, he presented as reactive/unpredictable around other dogs. Our neighborhood is social and there are other dogs around all the time. The goal was to have River be around other dogs and not be an absolute menace. Heelers tend to bite first and ask questions later, so as a responsible dog owner, I wasn’t about to let him around other dogs. Phil, at Supreme Canine came recommended by our neighbor as they ALSO had a Heeler that Phil worked with in the past. After hearing about their dog’s success and literally feeling like we were at the end of our rope, we made an appointment to meet Phil for a consult out in Dickson, TN. Let me tell you… the big gates and completely fenced in 11 acres was a perfect backdrop as we rolled into Supreme Canine’s beautiful world-class facility. From the training area, to the doggy cabin, to the creek, to Phil’s pack of dogs, we knew we were in for a major event. The consult went so well that the choice was obvious for us to see how River would be under Supreme Canine’s watchful and carefully trained eyes. Phil came to our house, watched us interact with River, saw all that he was trained to do, and we heard about the program and all that was involved. Other than being completely sad that River was “away,” within the first few days… RIVER WAS OFF LEASH PLAYING WITH OTHER DOGS!!! No muzzle, nothing. The pics and videos sent throughout his stay absolutely PROVED that we had made the right choice in Supreme Canine. We learned that River is quite selective of the dogs he’s wanting to play with, and that he’s much rather be attached to his humans, but to see him come out of his shell and not be a complete menace was the major major win!! More than that - he came back with more commands, gets into a crate, enjoys his fun sessions outside, and we were taught how to take River’s training to the next level. We cannot wait for the additional training sessions that were offered in the package, and his confidence (as ours) has increased tremendously. We’ve already spoke about Supreme Canine to a bunch of our friends and family about Phil, how River did there, and we are excited that friends AND family are already interested in consults. Our new golden retriever was doing OK at home with my limited knowledge in training. I called Phil and had a meeting with him regarding what he could offer for our dog Copper. After meeting him at his training facility and home, I was sold on his services. We used Phil’s puppy training program and I must say that copper has a whole new set of skills and we couldn’t be happier. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

Let me start off by saying Phil is an amazing trainer. We purchased a Cane Corso puppy from a local breeder and what we were told from the breeder about our puppy and what was reality was very different. Our puppy was great with other dogs however she had no social skills when it came to dealing with people. She was timid and frightened, especially around male figures.  It’s sad to say that our puppy appeared to be damaged goods. Phil took our puppy and did wonders with her. He worked on her obedience, which is now excellent, especially her recall. He took a puppy that was very timid and fearful, and was able to work with her to bring her out of those issues. We’ve continued to work with our puppy following his advice and his training techniques and we have an amazing dog now. Our puppy is happy, confident, very curious and full of life and excitement.
