While I have, thankfully, never been a client, I can no longer remain silent regarding this facility. Timeline – Early 2016 (April/May) to current (September 2019) –. Some of my neighbors have had to endure this beyond this timeline. Issue – excessive noise created by dog kennels (located at 15777 Robins Rd) that lack any sort of noise reducing walls. Consistent daily issues starting at approximately 6am to 7am, continued throughout the day, typically several times that exceed 10 minutes in duration and again, consistently around 7pm to 8pm. also including, but not limited to late night, and very heavy barking on the weekends, again starting early in the morning (7am) and often continuing for several hours. (We have recordings of the barking). Attempted resolution – • certified mail sent early on, May 2016, I believe. Certified mail included a letter asking for the barking issue to be resolved. • Several phone calls and texts (to the kennel owners) throughout the entire 3+ year time span. Admittedly, not always of a cordial nature. • BZA hearing that a conditional use permit was applied for and granted on the terms that noise reducing walls be built. This was sidelined by a loophole in the ORC. • Resolution passed in July, 2018 against barking and howling dogs. o Sheriff involvement from that point on. I can vouch for at least 4 or 5 calls to the sheriff along with 2 reports filled out. I know there were several more from my neighbors. o 3 citations issued that were contested and dismissed for an unknown reason. As an advocate for safe and healthy animals, I would be distraught if I had a dog residing at this facility. This is due to the fact that it is proven that dogs suffer trauma from persistent barking. So please think carefully about leaving your dog at this facility, as I am certain that current or previous customers have no idea what happens after they leave.
